So somebody pulled out infront of me in a parking lot in my 2017 Impreza and we had a slight collision so now I need to replace my front bumper cover, quarter panel and possibly hood. Was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a place that they have either went to or heard great things about! Thanks in Advance!
Cooks Auto Body on Hwy 36 in Maplewood. Did a stellar job on my BRZ and the pricing was reasonable! Edit: my avatar pic is actually the BRZ in the spray booth at their shop. Lol
@Jerf I'm in the Northern Minnetonka area, around Ridgedale Mall. But location isnt a HUGE issue. And @tangledupinblu thanks for the suggestion!! Heard good things about them. Thankfully insurance got my back with pricing lol I purchased it as a Subaru Certified Pre-Owned from Morries, so I was thinking about taking it to the Morries Collision center in Lokg Lake. They have pretty good ratings/reviews. Anyone ever been to them?
You’re welcome! I haven’t used Morries Long Lake, but i had an experience with Morries Brooklyn Park. And not a good one.
I work at the Luther Collision in Brookyln park, I can certainly try to help you out if you haven't picked a shop yet.
I've had three experiences with Morrie's facility in Long Lake. Stellar job on replacing windshield in '13 Escape. A little sloppy with the sealant replacing the windshield in '10 Escape. Average job (meaning typical paint work in a get 'em in and get 'em out shop) on dent removal and painting door of '05 Legacy GT - paid cash, so no blending of color onto surrounding panels. Color match was acceptable, but some dust in paint, some fine sanding marks visible with the right lighting, etc. Just average, and not what I would accept if the car was new.
I've had a couple good experiences with LaMettrys in Eden Prairie. Ask for Brandon M if he's still there.
The Morries body shop in Long Lake is no more. They've moved in to the building IMOLA used to be in right off of 494 and 55. For what it's worth they do really awesome work at this location, just not sure if they're up and running yet but it's worth the call. Mike
My car got stuck in the hail today parked at work... any recommendations on how to deal/work with insurance? Thanks!
Call them? It's not as convoluted as some people make it out to be. Get a few quotes for the body work and then call to have an adjuster come look at it.
I'd say if you've got the time get a few quotes on your own time before calling the insurance peoples. That way you've got some ammo for when they try to low ball you. I think that's basically what Jerf said, I'm just agreeing with it. (I think... Haha)
Definitely don't go to body shops for estimates on hail. Most of the insurance companies in this area have called in CAT teams for the storm. You will be required by your insurance to go to those locations for an estimate first before you can use the bodyshop. There is no way around it if your insurance company has called a CAT code. EDIT: Don't call your agent either unless you like getting the run around, call straight to your claims dept.
