Hi Everyone, I just wanted to gauge some interest for a car meet/show I go to every year. its the largest classic car show in the Midwest. But, you will see everything from Exotics to Model-T's. Plus everything in between. The actual show happens at Noah Ark, and we get rooms at the Monoco motel which is right next door. http://www.monacomotel.com/ I usually drive there Friday late morning before and hang out at the motel and wait for my buddies from Chicago to get there. Heres how the days usually go: Friday: Show up, hang out, go to dinner, go swimming etc. Saturday: Wake up, breakfast, go out for a country drive, watch all the cars roll up and down the strip, maybe go to the car show, definitely hit some go-karts (they're free with each registered guest at the Monoco) go to dinner, go to clubs or just stay and hang out at the hotel. Sunday: wake up, breakfast, back to the go-karts then head home. Just to clarify, MNSOC or www.mnsubaru.com has NOTHING to do with this meet This is an event that Ive done for the last 5 years, and I'm inviting you all to. 2 other things: 1) If you drink, you will be requested to surrender your keys, and will NOT get them back till the following morning. 2) If anyone under the age of 21is caught drinking, you WILL be thrown out and not asked to return when you become of age. With that out of the way, I wanted to gauge interest with how many rooms I'd need. You know how it goes, the more people, the cheaper. If you decide you would like to come, there will be a $25 non-refundable down payment to secure your spot. Thank You -tonyM A few pictures from last year:
OK, I have a few people interested. This is a public event, BUT, if you would like to be a part of the motel "buy-in" I will need a deposit to hold your spot. If you wait, you will find a hotel, just not on the strip. It'll be out of town a bit. Just an FYI!
About to reserve our room. If anyone wants in, we need to know asap. Or you can always get your own room. PM me if interested or post in here.
You've heard of Back to the 50's, right? Only allows 1964 and older, but at 11-12,000 cars on display, I don't know if there's anything that rivals it in most of the US. Make sure you check it out this summer, it's a bunch of fun!
Yeah, I've heard. Although I've never been. AM is a bit more than the show, I know Back to the 50's they all cruise around uni right? Same with AM, although each an every hotel/motel on the strip has cars on display as well. LOADS of fun This show last year I believe was as big as Back to the 50's. I could be wrong though, everyone always wants to claim the biggest and badest! In this picture, you only see maybe 1/10th of the total displayed cars. So I'm sure its close!
What is the cost on the hotel room's just a est, I know it will vary depending on how many go, but just wondering...thx
it was a great weekend, now I know more than 2 MNSOC members! Brian/Dan good to meet you guys! For those who missed it http://www.flickr.com/photos/29273400@N03/4637285169/
Yeah, it was an awesome time! Good to meet you as well, Shane! Looking forward to you and Hector and the crew making it up here sometime this summer! Check out the events area here, and try to plan it around a rally or rally-x, like you were saying.
