Hey guys, I need to get a helmet for Autocrossing, and I was wondering if anybody knew of a good place to get one. I did some searching, but all I could come up with was this thread: http://www.mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6764&highlight=helmet+autocross

It basicaly said that the best place to go was a Dennis Krik in Rush City, the only thing is I can't find him on the net or anything. Does anybody know how to contact this guy, or if there's a better place to go? Thanks in advance.

Yep. All the autox guys swear by that place. Lucky for me we have a few helmets at the office for when we take the Boxster to Brainerd...so I just borrowed one that fit me.;)

I believe you can get a open face fully approved autox helmet for $60.

    This one, HJC CS-5

Buddy I have with a dark silver Boxster S, just bought this helmet. It's this cool matte silver paint. You can get gloss paint for about $5 more.

Here is the one I have...which I just found out was $325...yikes! Better take that back to work before people ask questions...don't tell your Aunt, Martin.

    doubt it.
any autox helmet has to be Snell 2005 rated. NOT JUST DOT.

all the Autoxers seem to get theirs at Bob's cycle. some of the best prices in the cities from what i've heard. You can roll out the door with an open face HJC helmet, with a snell 2005 rating for under $65, including tax.

Just do yourself a favor, don't get one in "wine".
that's the same color as the new loaner helmets we bought this year. You don't wanna get bugged all the time about having a loaner. :)
