After a few years of driving AWD I felt it was time to see what I could do with RWD, so I recently got this car from WA. Most of the work has been done, I'm currently going thru and sorting her out and doing some R&D making sure she will be able to deal with the demands of Road Coursing and drifting. I just made a few additions cosmetically and mechanically. So far the testing has been going pretty well, I still have a short TO DO list and I'm sure I'll find more as she slowly progress to the competitive performance level.

One of the current issues I'm trying to figure out is why my clutch paddle is not consistant and last time I took her to BIR under load I got half paddle and I was not able to shift up. I have bleed the clutch three times now and the last time I cleared the reserve line which runs down next to the slave cyclinder.

So far the aero parts have been working well, and in some cases too well, like the passenger side front bumper, its starting to tear, I now have a 3" tear which I'll have to fix, this is part of the reason I held back on installing a front splitter. The car pulls really nicely with the GT2871R, but I'll need to spend some time on the dyno to get her fine tuned this spring. The next step is to get her back on a high speed track once I get the clutch deal figured out and go from there.

I want to help promote and encourage more RWD Nissans to come out and do more Road Course events as they are stereotyped as Drift cars only, but in other parts of the world believe it or not they are very competitive in RR.

Enjoy the pictures and I do appreciate some feed back from other experienced Nissan enthusiasts on the matter.

I added those two holes to help cool the car down, I have a manuel fan switch but it wasn't doing enough.

Recently added the rear wing for down force to the rear, she feels alot more planted at high speeds.

Yeah, I gotta spend some time and smooth out and round out those two holes in the front of the bumper. I was in a hurry to get it done for the BIR event so zip zip and I was done. LOL

The cannards got put on a few weeks ago and the wing just got put on a few days ago. I failed to mention a aluminum skidpate underneath the engine and some aluminum flashing around the 3" exhaust tip to help quite her down a bit.

I will need to reinforce the front bumper and adjust the cannards, something I had thought was more cosmetic has actually cause enough down force to start ripping my bumper.

I redesigned my oil catch can to help reduce blow by, added a layer of exhaust wrap between intake and exhaust manifold. New spark plugs, need to replace valve cover and spark plug gaskets and more.

I also wanted to mention that I might try to come up on the USAIR Drift day 24 on Oct 19 and than go fishing afterwards. LOL

Tokyo Drift just added more fire to my desire to drive sideways. I kinda regret not asking enough questions about drifting when I met Tanner. So I'm trying to track him down.

I thought aout that a/o seperator when I was at the hardware store, but I wasn't sure how much air restriction it had. For some reason from what I've seen the SR20DET seems to be pulling a bit more vacuum from the testing I've done. But I'll play around with the idea. ;)

Meanwhile lets start looking at maybe some dyno time with the Neo.

Thanks pal, I found that thread, I was surprised to be spotted, I don't drive the car hardly. I just happen to be out on an errand and decided to test out the car with the new wing with minimal drag. It wasn't until a few days later that I added more drag and started pushing her. I wanted to make sure the wing wasn't going to fly off.

That was a fun thread to hear what others thought about the whole wing idea. I find it funny how people can just start posting threads like "oh I spotted this ride at such and such." So yeah I was surprised this guy even got a picture of me, I don't even check those threads.

I just got mine tuned yesterday morning by mr. Jordan. He has probably one of the best customer oriented services for a tuner I've seen. Most of the other tuners I've meet or is a custom to seeing lack that ability and as a result have oftened turned me away. They do not have very good friendly social skills and don't want you anywhere near them when they are doing their work, they shut the doors behind them and your left alone browsing the parts catalog while you wait for you them to get your car tuned.

But with Jordan this is not the case, he is right there to entertain and help point things out about your car every step of the way, he kept me informed of the whole operation while I was there, answered all my questions and assured me he was doing everything in his ability to meet my expectation. On top of that my bill did not look that bad either for the amount of power gain and time spent on their dyno; for once I can say tuning my car was actually affordable.

Huge kudo's to Jordan from me personally in regards to having this event at MAP! I also have some friends that stopped by who I had not seen for a while which made it even more pleasant. Bonjour to David, Nuke and Justin G. thanks for stopping by.

That's one sexy flat torque curve, I like! Whats with the bouncing up top on a number of the runs in the second graph? Was he fighting some boost oscillation or knock, or is that just some bad dyno calculations?

Looks like a blast to drive!

that 'bounciness' was from the gap of the spark plug, also jordan adjusted the ignition and it was much much better.

the car pulls very strong and i like the powerband, now let's just see chong will put it to use ;)

The car drives just like many other cars I've driven before. I'll need to take her back to a track where I can really test her limits and than I'll tell you. But on the street the power delievers very nicely.

You just name the place and the time! And we'll have our own AWD vs RWD BMI American Touge!

Well I figured out the clutch deal and the tuning is done so I just have a few more things left on the TODO list. But its time for some new shoes, mrs. Brown stopped by today and these boxes say "Racing" all over them. And when I went to pick they up they were pretty light, how light, well how about 16lbs. each. I am working getting some graphics for the car and I'm considering painting them gold to match. So far the Red car seems to look pretty nice with gold decals and black borders at the bottom. Anyway I have three sets of tires ready for some serious testing. I was a bit concern they would not fit the 6 piston Wilwoods, but I am no more. Huge Thanks to Josh at Import Image for hooking me up, I'll make you proud, sir!

Its nice to know I have a few fan's. LOL

Actually I have three sets of tires waiting for an opportunity. The problem now is deciding which one will go on first.

The following:

1 set of used Hankook RS-2 235/45-17
[IMG]

1 set of used Avon R compound F 245/40-17 R 275/40-17
[IMG]

1 set new Yokohama Advan 032R F 255/40-17 R 275/40-17
[IMG]

I am thinking about running them in this order so I can get the suspension figured out.

Thanks guys for your comments. I have just received one of these as well. I figured its been a long time and its time I got a new one to protect my grape. Plus its time to renew to a SN2005 as most clubs are going to start expiring SN2K. She even came with a carry bag and some extra accessories. Now I gotta get some sticker with my SIG on it!

I tried her on earlier today and she fits nice and snug, the bottom support is also very nice, keeps the helmet from bopping

It's been a long winter, but I've been able to keep myself busy. Spent some time on the frozen lake refining some techniques as well as developing new ones. Did some winter Car Control training with some students. And successfully survived another MN winter without a hitch.

Anyway it's been a while since I updated my thread. I know I have some supporters here so here's the latest.

The car got tuned last fall by Jordan MAP. 350whp 300wtq Bought some new additions. Will be having the rear wing remounted and new support brackets made, after some additional testing. Custom front Splitter is being made, will have to get some front bumper support bars welded to keep it from folding under from high speed braking.

The plan for this season is to get as much seat time in the car and sort her out, she needs to be reliable and quick/stable around corners.

I just ordered a GoPro Be a HERO camera for this season with some extra 2gb sd memory. This will be a fun addition. Now we can really capture some good footage and start observing what we need to work on. It would be nice to have a few more to capture some other angles from driver to mechanics for R&D.

The new BC Inverted Coilovers 10/8k showed a lot more of what the RedHead was capable of. The limiting factor for the weekend was the BF GoodRich KDW G-force tires. The car rotated beautifully around the tight section, hairpins and slalom. The wing added more traction to the rear as testing last fall w/o it revealed more oversteer with less throttle.

All thats left before the next big event for further testing is an alignment, power steering coolers, metal plate to cover the trunk opening, mount some tires and secure my GoPro Cam. Speaking of which I got busy trying to give friends rides I failed to setup the camera. After lunch I lost too much power steering fluid and so my friend spent the second half of the day trying to fix the issue and we never made it back in time for another run.

Another option for gathering data is MaxQ data acquistion. I use it for autox and at the track and it works pretty well. It's not the most comprehensive package out there but at less than half the price it's pretty capable.

maxQdata.com

If you're interested I can send you some data files from Road America, you can download the program for free and check out what it's capable of showing you. Although like anything else the more experience you get with it it becomes more useful.

I did a screen cap so you could see what I'm talking about(and now you can all lol over my track times). Looks intimidating at first but not too bad once you get into it.

Like I said if you're willing to spend more $$$ traqmate is pretty solid and I've heard good things about the new DL1 as well.

Yes, you have to set beacons and copy them to each lap.
