2000 Legacy L 2.5 SOHC NA 5mt 161k miles Title says it, head gasket failure. Steaming from the tailpipe, exhaust from the coolant overflow hose, cylinder 4 misfire (PO304), air (exhaust?) pockets in the cooling system, overheating. I'm thinking I should have the heads machined while the car is apart, because it did get pretty hot when it first happened. I live in Excelsior right now, so western burbs would be ideal, but does anybody have any recommended shops? More importantly, any shops to avoid?
