The end of that video shows just how incredibly ignorant you have to be to do something like that, all for the sake of an adrenaline rush. Cool vid, but what an idiot.
Too bad the guy that was supposedly clocked at 205mph here in the Cities did not have a video. He got caught and was charged.
He got caught and was charged and then had an "expert witness" dyno his RC51 and testify that there was no way it could go faster than about 165 and the ticket was dropped. That guy is on myspace here: http://www.myspace.com/205tilley Its not like its hard to outrun a Volvo station wagon on an R1. That guy in the video was slowing down to keep the cop on camera. Edit: I think that is a GIXXER dash, actually. Whatever.
I think this: is sort of the original psycho Paris beltway racing through traffic video. I heard this guy died filming another one of these.
Didnt watch but I am guesisgn you guys are talking about GHOSTRIDER... I believe the bikes he uses are turbo gixxers... one of his earlier bikes had 400+HP... and wheelstands in 5th gear.... I have a bunch of his vids.. or did have...
I just don't know what to say....Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if nobody else was on the road, but at then end that accident could've killed someone. With that said, I give it a two thumbs down.
Well having known people that have done that exact same thing and having been in that situation once I can say that it is a huge rush but also very immature and dangerous. Innocent people get killed that way. Im sure everyone knows that the power to weight ratio is like 3.6 times greator for most sportbikes than a stock STI...power anytime in any rpm in any gear and lots of people abuse it on the street. That was not ghostrider.
just to clarify, this is very definitely cut footage from Ghost Rider 2 - Ghost Rider Goes Wild. the end of the clip appears at the beginning of the DVD. he's short shifting at the start to get footage. ...but the really good news is that ~3/4 of the way through said DVD there's a nice bit with GR in a tuned bugeye running with an evo camera car. the downside is that the majority of the engine sounds are from the evo. as for me, I'll stick with 4 wheels, thanks.
oh, thx w o t boy for the info - myspace account is currently private, but i say GJ for getting that ticket dropped, especially in light of all the media hype.
