My friend went home for Easter, drove his 2006 LGT... he cleaned the car at home and accidentally hit the park lights switch on the top of the steering wheel.

The next morning he came out and the battery was dead to the point of not being able to turn the motor over. :ugh:

Should he bring it in? I'm thinking so.... Isn't the point of that switch so you can leave them on overnight in other countries?

yeah he did that. It's fine now, just curious why that thing would kill the battery though...

i'm not surprised it died. overnight even something like a glovebox light can drain a battery (had that happen on our camry before)

The point of that switch is to be able to have the lights on when the car isn't on, but not overnight.

Plus, the stock Subaru batteries just plain suck.

That type of battery typically doesn't handle being fully drained well. I doubt it'll ever hold a charge like it did beforehand but it may still be functional *enough*

I ran my OEM battery for 10 years before it finally crapped out. I'd say it was the best car battery I ever had.
