I'm considering it. But likely wont. On one hand, I am completely bored with the military shooter genre. It's been beaten absolutely to death, and I just don't care anymore. I haven't played a drab grey shooter game for about 5 years now. But on the other hand, the "destroyable world" thing is something I have been waiting for since the GoldSRC engine toolkit was released. And while I likely wont buy BF4 for it, I am excited to finally see it arriving in big budget titles. Granted, it's about 15 years later than I'd hoped, but the fact that mid range PC gaming hardware capabilities have reached the level where destructible world physics can be achieved is a good sign of things to come in terms of immersion in games.
I have a tank in my personal garage in GTA Online. I don't have to wait for the point in the story when they suggest you use it either. I use it for even the most mundane of missions now, like stealing 1500 dollars in meth from some biker gang. I got spoiled by the early run of TeamFortress2. That changed my view of FPS gaming. They've DLC'd it to absolute death now, making it unplayable for me. But the concept made teamwork make sense in shooter games again. I have played some COD and BF games since, and they all fall flat of the fun I had playing CS Beta and 1.0 days. I may try it when it goes on sale, but for now, I have GTA, and Steph has a pre-order on AC4 which needs to be fulfilled. We'll see. I just don't have time to worry about it.
Yeah, there's that too. I wont install Origin. As far as bugginess, that doesn't surprise me either. Ever since FPS games started rolling out on consoles, the release day quality has been absolute crap. Especially on the multiplayer aspects, as more and more FPS games have gone to matchmaking lobby on company owned servers. Every single time they forget that they've had this huge media blitz, and everyone is buying the damn game, and here they are with 1/4 the datacenter capacity they should have had. Then you spend 2-4 weeks hearing them talk about how they are 'working on it' and meanwhile you're still beta testing the game for them for bugs. By about the 4th update everything finally smooths over.
I would buy it, but i dont agree with origin's EULA. I have a bunch of games that I am waiting for on my bucket list. Kinda burned out on all the FPS's . Like readymix stated about the destroyable world... I've been waiting for it as well. Will be trolling gameplay videos. Also I might have to update the video card in the beast since its the only thing that is bottlenecking me.
I'll probably get it eventually. The beta ran like crap on my machine, so I'm considering upgrading it for Arma 3 / BF4 / witcher 3.
Same beta ran pretty crappy on my machine which I just upgraded not to long ago. So I may give it a try but don't really want to then drop a bunch of cash to just run BF4 that I will only get to play every once in awhile. Why? because married and real life bs
the beta ran fine on my machine, but yeah hopefully they fix it soon...on one of the cool maps...the water rises as the game goes on cutting off entrances and other things
Yea. I had good matches the other night. To.get the game to run I had to update to the latest video card drivers. It went from unplayable to running like glass on max settings with that update. Was so weird.
Got it downloaded and played for a round or two. Graphics stability definitely improved over the beta. Still takes a long time to log into some servers for the first time.
