Sounds like the Alt./ PS belt is a little loose. It's an easy adjustment if you have a 10MM socket to remove the belt cover, Then a 12mm on the two Front front bolts holding the Alt. on. Loosen them maybe a turn, then locate the adjusting bolt which faces up and down. Give that bolt a turn and a half and the tighten everything back up.

There is no adjustment to the AC belt on the 08+Sti

Mine (09 wrx) does it periodically when its cold out. (Usually less than 10 degrees). I would describe it more as a whine than a squeal. Goes away within a few seconds.

My 05 legacy does it if it hasn't been started for more than like 10 hours in the cold. Otherwise nothing!

Under 10 degrees I get the whine.. After it runs for a minute it goes away. It's just the suby complaining it's cold out lol

Mine did the other day when it was below zero. It sounded more like a water pump wine than a belt though.

Mine squealed for a few seconds when it was below zero after work the other day... only seems to happen when sitting out in very cold conditions for a long period of time.

Someone Has already made that comment ryjacobs. I still said My belts are new. They are tightened like they are supposed to be and they dont squeal not matter what! So Deal with it or change and or tighten belts :)

Haha ok, I wasn't worried about it. The temp was -25 with the wind chill for a while that day.

I think what im saying that isnt clear is that even at the coldes hotest driest wetest days my belts havent squealed so they should be check for tension and for wear if they are squeaking
