give me a list of some cars in that price range! I know there are alot but just list some cars that you would buy if you were in that price range...
Ummm... I spent $15,000-$20,000 on my car back in March with about 28,xxx miles on it and felt I made a steal!!! Nough said! But I was seriously looking at something a little more luxury with my job and decided to go with the car I always have been drooling over... I looked at a few 03/04 Lincoln LS 3.9L v8s.... All of these were in that range, but it just depends on what type of driving you want to do... Big baller pimpin! Or sport driving manuals with lightning quickness!!! I chose the latter... I have the rest of my old life to drive luxury sedans... :yumyum: I also drove a couple Hyundai Tiburon v6's and liked them for the price and features! I think I made a good choice!
Well it all depends on what you want out of a car, go fast or go cheap. Go cheap would be a civic, possibably an si, I don't think you can get a new one for under $20k I'd think but you could probably find one older with lower miles for cheap. There was a bunch of 04-05s when I bought my wrx, almost bought one. Go fast all depends, gotta finance the money or do you have it cash. Bunch of nice cars out there you could buy and make go plenty fast.
M3. Hell of a lot of car, and a good cross between luxury and performance. Only problem is you'll slap yourself the first time it snows.
Here is the list of the cars I am looking at and have looked at in the same price range. I wish the 05 Acura TL's would drop a little more. 05' Legacy GT, 05 RSX, 04 TSX, 05 Sentra SE-R Spec V, 05 Maxima, 04 G35, 05-06 Mazda 6, 04 Saab 9-5, 04 RX8
you should rule out the sentra, maxima, and rx8. Ive owned sentra/maxima, and driven a RX8 a lot. you would probably be disappointed with all of them Only mazda 6 if its the Mazda speed version. high 13 qtrs stock!! the saab and g35 are nice, but the g35 is really just a maxima with more power so...
+1 I picked mine up for $19k with 650 miles on it and was very happy with it and they respond very well to simple mods. If only my rex had that low mileage when i got it! But I like my AWD better
+10 SRT-4s are so cheap, even new ones with low miles. And they have so much torque. No waiting for boost to come on. But wait, was the question for new cars or used cars?
06 wrx, you aught to see bob's torque curve just with stage 2...285 wtq (even though they are around $24K)
I love how he said 15 - 20K price range, and some of you are suggesting M3's and STi's. Reading comprehension FTW.
yah but he said what you would buy. so if i had to spend the money i would buy a sti or anything subaru with a 2.5t. witch i did. and i would give up the a new car for a used sti. i got mine for 22k and i no you could get down there in price if you fined the right one even more. im sure you could buy a used m3 too but i would be way old and still over priced. if i was him i would keep the car he has or buy a different subie. thats just me..
Used '05 9-2x Aero. They're probably what, in the 18k-20k range, depending on the options? Not bad for an almost new WRX wagon. Heck, I'd sell mine for 18k in a heartbeat. Oh, and don't forget that it looks better, too.
I thought the Chevy Cobalt ss looked pretty nice if you're into that sort of thing. Pretty sure it's in that price range, can you say "supercharged!" I picked up the 02 bugeye for $18,500! Never regretted it!:biggthumpup:Btw saw your dyno pulls speedemon and for a wrx she looked and sounded sweeeet, if I was going to drop 15 to 20k on a car, I would be buying yours!!;}
forgot to specify. USED M3. There are plenty of nice ones out there in your price range. On that note, buy a legacy 2.5gt.
im probly going to get something that im going to keep stock for some time...so speed is not really at the top of my list..
driven an rx8 and owned 2 G35's (coupe and sedan). RX8's are kind of a tight fit if you like that kind of thing. G35 sedan would fall into that price range, and can be fun to drive in the 6MT version (although the outside is a little boring). G35 is more fun to drive than a maxima (front wheel drive is boring). Has a little luxury as well.
get a prius! 50+mpg! and 82lbs torque@4200+295lbs torque@1200rpm! http://www.toyota.com/vehicles/2005/prius/specs.html
Yaris is like 14k brand new. once again great gas mileage, and doubtful there is a tuner market for the car, so that will keep you from being tempted to mod.
:+1: If you want something different, that's cool, but why not go with a car you can trust? Not to mention you'll know more about it since you have owned the WRX so if any problems that arise, you'll have a good idea what it is.
