I just picked up a used '07 Forester XT sport. It needs a little TLC. This is my 3rd Subaru, but I've never used dealer service on any of my previous cars.

Which dealer in the Twin Cities area has the best, friendliest service? I know my way around a wrench, I'm not looking for condescending service managers.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I picked up the car down near Atlanta. I took a little detour on the way home through Deal's Gap. I've been there numerous times on 2 wheels. AWD & turbo is a great combination on a road that's 11 miles long with 318 curves.

Morries at Minnetonka have many members of this forum that work there.... also White Bear Lake has a fat guy called Ray and a couple of others working there....

Brian SHorten works at another... dang which one again.. tired going to take a nap... 3 kids are draining.. ah ha

not to mention the plethera of advice and knowledge by local members of this forum whom are usually more then willing to help out a club member.... as long as you dont ask the same 10 questions in seperate threads that have been asked in the last week, you learn to use the search feature, and you dont talk smack till you are at least at 300 posts... ha ha ha ha j/k (about some of it anyways...)

10% at tonka.. also I used to own the Meineke in Shakopee (sold it) but I live in Jordan, and am usually available to help out a little... I have plans on building a small workshop early next year when I build my house, so I can help out with smaller things then...

    either way... ask away...

I think I heard Jamie (my old Saab service writer) was promoted to a position at Morrie's Subaru.

Bar none, he was the best service guy I have ever encountered.

I'll say hi to him tomorrow. I was telling him last week that your place isn't open anymore.

Too bad you're not still open, I think I need an alignment. The car goes straight down the road, but the steering wheel is several degrees off to the right.

I havent been into any of the cities dealers but I do know the club members who work there will take good care of ya and we get the 10% labor/20% parts discount at Morries (minnetonka), Brooklyn Park Subaru and also Clements here in Roch. But not at the White Bear dealer yet (Ray?!!! wassup with that?)
Just take a look in the vendors section. :)

Btw nice looking find there, and welcome!

Yes, I guess Beeloo talked the Subaru service manager into it before I could. The only problem is that this is a Chevy dealer who just happens to sell Subaru's too. The Subaru rep is nice enough but if you talk to the parts guys they are Chevy boys to the core.

Any body wanna finance my new Subaru dealership in Roch?? lol

Thanks. The reason I drove 2400+ miles roundtrip was because it was such a great deal.

Subarus don't seem to be very popular down in Georgia. I drove down and traded my '07 2.5x (non-turbo, auto) with 15k miles on it for the above pictured '07 2.5xt sport, 5spd, with 8200 miles. I'm sure there may be some that will call BS, but the deal was this sweet: my car + $3K. The car I traded for was at a Toyota dealer in Stone Mountain.

I didn't gas up there, just stopped for a quick photo op. The premium is in the pump behind my car. Yeah, and the gas filler is on the other side too. LOL

    http://www.tailofthedragon.com/ This is a must-see, must-drive road.

Although I'd agree there I have to say that dealings with the service managers there has been less than pleasant.

Now that my favourite mechanic is gone I'll not being going back!

well I think that the minnetonka dealership is closest to you. so if you want dealer service bring it there. brian, ben, 3rik, and bielke all work there. Brian and Ben do great work, so no worries.

otherwise ask around and I am sure you can find some answers on here. Subies are so easy to work on its unbelievable.

Thanks for the info. I'm good with a wrench. I actually like working on my stuff. I have a garage full of motorcycles too.

I was thinking just normal warranty stuff that may come up. I'm also in need of an alignment...well, the steering wheel is off-center a few degrees.
