I just bought some blizzaks. I'm trying to find the best deal on: Dismounting current tires Mounting new tires New valve stems Balance Wal-mart has given me the best quote yet, at $57.95 out the door for all of this, all 4. Know of anyone that can beat that?
Jeff the alignment guy. Hell even if he was $10 more I'd still go to a local, independent shop like him who takes great pride in his work. But yeah i think hes right around that price or less.
I have been quoted as high as $125 PER tire when I was switching out some summers. $60 is a pretty good deal. I think even Venberg is around $100 for the set of 4. Russ
I am pretty sure if you want to use Wal-Mart you have to buy tires from them. I tried Wal-Mart in Shakopee and they denied my tires mounting.
definately jeff... he mounted, balanced, valve stems.. the whole shebang for $60 out the door. cool guy to talk to as well!
http://www.thealignmentguy.com/album.htm He can get a bit busy but is a pretty neat guy when you do get a chance to chat with him. That being said, it's always nice to have a close friend working at a dealership or tire place. after hours for the price of lunch will normally do the trick.
+1 for Jeff. Good prices and he knows what he's doing. Don't think I would trust my wheels @ wal-mart. Firestone in Eagan is also reputable. About $100 for a set of 4.
You get what you pay for...I prefer my wheels to stay unscratched. Don't know Jeff, but based on other's recommendations, I would probably give him a try.
Sam's club here in Duluth has always treated me very well. I'm not sure about other locations, but this one for sure I've had 8 or 10 sets of tires mounted and balanced, and never bought a single tire there. Mounting, balancing, valve stems, and recycling. Last time I was in there (3 months or so), it was $9.50 each. Even had them do it on the car with all kinds of goofy sizes. Among them were the 215/45r17s on my Rotas, the wheels were brand-new, 3 in unopened boxes. Not a single scratch. They also did the Kumho Ecsta 711s, which had a VERY stiff sidewall. They also have free flat repair. And that's a done-right patch, with the tire removed from the wheel and patched from the inside and remounted. Doesn't matter where you bought the tire or had it mounted.
