so.. TODAY i finally got all of my parts to finish fixing the damage on the front end of my car..YAY. fast forward to tonight. im inside waiting for my dad to get home with a moving truck, im inside watching tv with my girl friend and all of a sudden i hear the garage open followed by a loud crash moments later. long story short he couldnt see my car when he was backing up the driveway and took out the right rear quarter panel of my car
geeebus. Thats gonna be spendy. Do you have access to a better camera? I'd like to see how bad it all is. The back glass didn't break so the rear window surround can't be that tweaked. But yeah, you'll need a whole new quater and some pulling on the inside most likely. Possibly a whole repaint of the car, unless they really want to blend everything.
still in the shop, but should be done by next week *crosses fingers* They started working on it about a month ago. But my suspensions went out and the front has to be replaced also. Cost, with what they estimated it at? about 12g's BUT i also had the rear quarter panel smashed in also before, by my uncle, who was backing out without looking. His insurance paid for it and it was about $1300?
yeah it will cost at least a grand if not more. they will for sure have to cut it out and weld a new one. That means the whole side of the car will need to be painted plus the bumper and half of the roof.
better cost more then a grand.. the fckin corolla i barely hit 2 years ago that got a tiny crack in the rear bumper if that got estimated at 1200 and the lowest was 500 cause teh bitch refused to use a used bumper
Car is in kbb is about 19-20k, and i would have to be very close to that, in order to total it, ghey Oh well, gotta live with it. The first one, they did not have to cut it out, but just push it out, cleaned it up a bit, pain. That there, looks like they'll have to cut it out. The current one got removed and had to rebuild it.
Ouch man that sucks! What are you going to do? If you are going to get it fized I know a body shop up loretto that has experience doing rear 1/4s on GDs.
it can totally be fixed. we sell wholesale body A LOT, we keep impreza 1/4 panels in stock INSURANCE!
My Dad totalled my VW Karmann Ghia the same way, more or less. But I didn't get any insurance settlement out of that (it was under their policy and the deductible was probably more than the car was worth at that point).
Sorry to see that, squiggly. Lehman's is well recommended amongst the Bimmer/Audi crowd. $2600 isn't bad at all. When my wife got rear-ended in her car it cost almost 7 grand to fix. German cars
thats good to hear. my buddy does the detailing there so i know ill be getting a more personal service also.
My Gf's dad did the same thing to my gf's car not that long ago. The damage is not nearly as bad but still 800 bucks worth of repair.
