    "better"car? updated

00 or 02 impreza RS...cosmetics aside, sedans (obvious for the 02). I have the opportunity to go look at on 00 RS sedan, 98k original owner miles. Needs tires, brakes, 100k service (I can handle service and brakes). Car is in excellant condition and drives terrific (according to owner) $7k...thoughts?

The GD chassis is much stiffer, and will flex less under heavy cornering. Also asthetically the GD interior is much nicer it has more substance and feels less breakable.

The GC/GM chassis wiegh less (2400-2700lbs compared to 3200+lbs) the late 2000 and 2001 RSs came with a rear LSD.

    I prefer the GC/GM chassis ;-)

    GC/GM: Lightweight, floppy, sexy chassis.

GD: Heavier, rigid, easier chassis to find goodies for.

If you know what you are doing, and have the space, the GC/GM could be as rigid as a GD. But that would be a serious undertaking.
