Peoples, recently I've been hearing a hissing sound when I start to get a turbo boost. When I let off the gas the hissing stops instantly, so I'm guessing it has to do with the turbo ( leak? ). I'm rolling in an 04 wrx w/ accessport - 30k. Should I set it to stock mode and take it into the dealer? Little skerd. Any ideas?

Definetly sounds like you have a leak, I take it your car is stock? Check all the lines to make sure nothing blew off.

And if its stock, take to the dealer.

Yes, it's stock other than the cobb ecu upgrade. I'd look under the hood and see if anything is loose but I don't know crap for crap. I can reset it to stock ecu mode. Perhaps dealership is best. btw, I'm the second owner.

reset to stock -> dealership -> boost leak -> ask for warranty

You probaly won't have any problems, you're still under your bumper to bumper warranty.

    un-marry it.
with the new system, some dealerships have been known to just flash an ecu to make certian it was up to date.

if they do that, your locked out of your access port untill you can send it to cobb with the paperwork and get it back.

^^^^ and pay $400 to get the ap reset. If you plan on bringing it to the dealership, un-marry it.

They can't right now. But i think what they're saying is the dealership will update the ECU software/map and when you reconnect your AP after they do this the AP doesn't recognize it as the same ECU and you've pretty much just screwed the pooch.

actually, i've looked into this. if you have documentation that your dealership flashed your ECU, they will reset it for no charge.
But it's still a pretty good wait from cobb. it's easier to just un-marry.

Actually, subaru has released a new flashing tool.
it's un known right now if they can verify or not if an accessport or ECUTek has been used.

But i know one thing: if i hook up my laptop and cable to your car, i can tell weather or not your using an AP. I don't see it being far off for subaru to gain the same ability.
