I've currently got a VF39 with SSAC TMIC, 660c injectors, fuel pump, and Perrin inlet...but of course I'm bored and it's time for more power. What's the biggest/best turbo for my street setup? I prefer to keep my TMIC and injectors, though I might consider bigger injectors if necessary. I've read many a great thing about the FP turbos, Green vs. 20G?

I would likely keep everything except the VF39 and maybe the injectors.

Might want to think about upgrading your tranny first.

You can either buy an upgraded tranny or a spare. I bought a spare.

you can do one of three things with the the tranny issue...

    1. buy a spare
    2. upgrade it
    3. learn how to drive it.

yeah learn how to drive is key. i have an 18g with my stock tranny and 71k miles. no problems. also change out the fluid in the tranny and put some good stuff in there. that will help protect.

Yes good lube in the tranny for the win. I have been running amsoil in mine and would never use anything else.

You also have to remeber, you are FAR FAR away from pulling good power from your turbo. Pinks are not even enough gas to properly support a vf34 much less a 18g.

I am running a 18g on my car, and at 21psi my idc's are 90% with 630cc injectors. You *MIGHT* be able to squeek in a 20g with 660's. Depends on how aggresive you want to get with the tune. Once you start running race gas, your idc's will go down cuz you will be able to lean it out.

You should be able to pull off a 20g with a quality TM (not SS). Just wrap everything you can. No clue about the injector size tho. At the 20g + side people have reported the Perrin tube collapsing. Something to also keep in mind. If anything you can get a 20g now and turn the boost down if you run out of injector room. Might save you money down the line WHEN you get used to the power and want more.

The green and the 20g are pretty damn close. FP says the 20g spools slightly faster while the green is the turbo to pick if you plan on running race gas. From the sound of it you won't have near the injector room needed to do so.

Well, iirc, the 20g is a 45lb compressor wheel and the green is a 49lb compressor wheel. A 20g on a 2.0l is going to be giving you quite a bit of lag. I guess it all depends on when you want to see boost.
