So this morning I somehow ended up with my phone in the dog water dish.... It was in ther for like under 2 sec. I got it out and used the blow dryer on it and it turns on and the ringer works and functions for the most part. The problem is the buttons (and the important ones at that....) don't work correctly..... Dose anyone have an secrets on how to reserect the blackberry, or am i just pwnd
you could remove the battery, take it all apart and make sure everything under the pad is completely dry and there are no shorts.
Get a ziplock, put phone in it, and fill with minute rice. Let sit for 10 hours or so, and the moisture should be gone from inside.
take out the battery and put it in a bag of dry rice. Rice pulls out the moisture. Gridlocked FTL - The clock says it's a tie, but we all know the truth.
Inside the cover next to the memory slot there is a little white sticker. Not more than the size of a sharpie marker dot. That changes color when it is exposed to water. They will ask what color that is (if it is a warranty claim). FYI, it should be white. They got smart.
oh geez..... Im gonna try the rice in a bag trick....... ^heard of this never realy thought it would work...
despite what you would think, my friend peed his pants while drunk with his cellphone in his pocket and did this and it worked! lol.
By "FRIEND" you mean you, right? Yes, the rice thing works. I have heard put the bag of rice + phone somewhere warm. Speeds up the process I think?
coming from experience...working at the hell that is a t-mobile store, I would say about 90 percent of water damaged phones never end up working the same again--especially one as advanced as a blackberry. they might still turn on and do all of that, but they end up doing weird stuff in the long run. check that sticker though, if it is still white, you might be in better shape.
yea my nokia went through the wash....it worked ok for a while but the cam didnt then it took a month and it all went down hill......water = kryptonite for phones
my cell fell into a toilet full of....I don't even wanna think about it!! I pulled it out in like a second, so fast. it was still on and working. but I turned it off and let it dry all night.
Suspect. Highly. This is my strategery every time I want to "upgrade" my BB. Oops, boss, it fell in the ___________ River. So sorry.
