I brought my car in for service last wed. It has been making a chattering noise when taking off from a dead stop. They found the pitch mount was snapped in half (part is still on order). I picked it up thurs after getting the boost gauge fixed and driver side wiper fixed. After getting it home, i had no clutch pressure. Car only has 11xxx miles.

Had it towed back to Bloomington Subaru Fri and after popping the hood they found the master cylinder had no fluid in it. They couldnt work on it till mon so they give me a leagacy wagon as a loaner. I get a call from them yesterday saying they want $500 for the tow, new clutch slave cylinder and clutch line. F#@! that they will take care of this under warranty.

Drove there last night to speak to them in person and they are telling me there is something funny about my car and they need to get someone from Subaru involved to make the decision to cover this under warranty. After walking to the car with the service tech and consultant, I asked them to show me where it was leaking and they couldnt tell me. With the IC removed I noticed they had filled the clutch master cylinder. I asked them if there was pressure on the clutch after filling it and they said yes the car is driveable. So i asked them to put the car back together and i'll be on my way. I get in and try to engage the clutch and its still stuck to the floor. Service consultant said the tech never bled the clutch. I asked them to bleed the clutch and get the air out of the system and he said ok it will just be a minute. After waiting around for 5 mins he tells me they werent going to service my car anymore. They told me i was being unrealistic and narrow minded. They couldnt tell me what was wrong with my car yet they wanted me to invest $500 in parts and labor on something that isnt broken. Qoute from Mike Wagner service consultant" We f#$@!*& fix cars here we dont sabotage them." I've never had a problem with the clutch until i brought it into them for service. After getting so fed up and dropping the f bomb on these guys i pushed my car out of the dealership lot into seasonal concepts parking lot where it is currently parked.

I cant believe the way i was treated, i will never do business with these guys again.

that blows! first off i dont know how you snapped a pitch stop, those thigns are tough. and the clutch thing is super lame. i would bring to to mntka or bp subaru.

i find it funny that you pushed your car out of the dealership in a fit of rage though.

If your car is still stock, it seems like maybe you should contact someone at Subaru of America directly.

Subaru might tell you that your BOV makes your engine too powerful for the stock pitch mount and your warranty is no good. Stupid, I know but I think modding anything means all bets are off as far as the powertrainn warranty.

yeah iam not surprised that they did that to you. i have gone in there a few times, since i live near by and they just have really bad attitudes.. I always go to Minnetonka now. its a good thing you stuck up for yourself i think that they are almost more geared towards Acura instead of Subaru people.

I don't agree with the Service you got there, and your not the first one to complain about it.

First off, if your pitch mount broke, it had to be a defective mount. Those things are very strong.

Your clutch sticking to the floor is very odd, and only makes sense that they removed the slave cyclinder and pushed down on the clutch pedal when the slave wasn't contacting the clutch fork and they over-extended the push rod. Air then fills the slave and your forked...until you bleed it out.

Either way, they should have never gotten attitude with you, and if you get a warranty survey...you should fail them badly. It's happened to us before, and the writer will get frowned upon.

Should've brought it here! And you still could!

Call SOA. End of story. When I have my problems with white bear, I am the call to soa and it all got taken care of. SOA also paid me for my time that was wasted with my car.

They are the worst dealers I've ever dealt with. 2002 I went in to test drive and likely buy a new WRX. 20 minutes of looking with no help not even 1 person noticed me and they weren't busy at all. I grabbed someone and he asked if I just started looking. I said I'm either buying the WRX or an '01 Prelude in Madison, WI. He said I should keep looking as I just started the buying process. He basically refused to sell me the car. Mind you I work for a fortune 100 company and make more than enough to purchase the car and I was 26 at the time. I'd guess maybe an 18 year old being treated like that. Anyway, 1 week later I had the Prelude. I will never refer anyone there or go there for anything.

I have had nothing but bad experiences with that dealership. I did get a friend a good price on a car from there once, but their parts department was surly with me on several occasions when I stopped by in person, one of them called my yellow WRX a "piece of junk" that "probably can't even run" and the a couple other of the old guys just snorted at it.

They also refused to show me a wrx when I was 22 years old looking at one. I found that to be absolutely ridiculous. they treated me like I couldn't afford the car and priced it up at $26k becuase at the time there were so few of them. they told me "you're going to buy this car today, I know it" and offered me a $1000 trade in on a car I sold 2 days later for $6k
needless to say, I avoid the place. I used to go by there because it was convenient, now I just go to BP or Minnetonka. I've bought a new subaru from both of those dealerships and not had any problems.

06 STI's have new engine mounts that fail. This in turn breaks the pitch mount. There should be a TSB on the issue. As for the rest of the service and broken parts I suggest you contact SOA through a different dealer.

SCOTT Putnam is awsome. I bought my car from him. Did most of the deal from Miami on the phone over spring break. I have been in there to talk to him about rally a few times too. He is a co-driver so he lives Subaru.

The parts dept does have a lot of attitude. I saw that first hand also. They did not want to look for the items I was requesting or to talk to me at all. Now, due to ease, I get dealer parts from St. Cloud Subaru. They have been great. One of the parts guys know who I am when I walk in the door. Great service so far up there.

'06 STi's with plastic engine mounts! Time to upgrade to STi Grp N.

I'm afraid to take my car to places and have them work on it. Even when I took it in for an alignment, I had to tell the guy where my adjustment bolt was, and also told him about adjusting the front tow because it'll move during tightening and loosening. I'll only have those who I KNOW works on Subarus do the job if I can't do it or I choose to not do it.

wow, nice one WOT...btw add another story
my bro, (YANG) on this board bought a 00 impreza rs
from them about 3-4 years ago. had body kit intake, etc.
brought car home and a few days later, we noticed the shifter would
go in neutral on the hiway when let off gas pedal. we took it
in and they said they can't fix it! my dad talked to the boss of acura
and hell went loose. Dad swearing and saying that it was just bought...
w/e but a OLD ASIAN dad being pissed, luckly that manager didn't get
wooped with his belt! LOLZ!!! anyways, we just left that place with a
grudge on our shoulder. AND we also talked to the salesman at the subaru place but he didn't help sh*t. it seems like when you want a car, they are always there but when something goes wrong, i don't know you! lolz...wtf...
    bp and minnetoka subaru FTW!

I got the same thing. WRX is twin turbo, didn't know what the intercooler is (said it's like a second radiator that makes it higher performance) and said the BOv was an emissions device, and "has something to do with getting better gas mileage"

the best part is when he said the alternator was the second turbo and that the first turbo was "inside the engine, you can't see it" then they told me basically to bugger off because I can't drive a WRX unless I'm going to buy it and that if I didn't the next guy who walked through the door would (wow, that realy makes me want to buy a car from you douchebag) Also he siad that they were going to throw in the alloy wheels for free, and they didn't have to do that, they were being nice (they're a standard part guys... they're part of the MSRP...)

FYI this was 5 years ago so maybe he doesn't work there anymore. I sure hope not.

Those are some funny stories. My fiance and I bought our WRX new from there im May of 05 and had no problems and were treated well by our sales person. A female and I cant remember her name. Now I'll have to decide on where to take it for major services. They even cut our Sti key for free (that I purchased elsewhere)

Yeah I agree it should be free. We havent spent any money at that place for anything yet and probably wont because of the service goons there. Looks like the other dealers might be getting a 30k service soon. Or it might just be done by me in my own garage.

FWIW, I bought my new STI from Scott Putnam @ Bloomington Subaru and had a very good experience. Can't speak for their other sales people or parts, but definetly don't lump him with any bozo's there.

    l
