Hey, I need some minor body work done before the winter. Mainly just very minor rust removal and paint touch up rihht above the windshield and also small rust spot on rear quatter under the fuel door.

Anyone know the best place/person to go to?

Great question, I'm in for the answer as well. My new paint job that's like 8 months old already has rust on the fender and I want to get it taken care of ASAP along with some panels painted and whatnot.

I trust LaMettrys when it comes to body work like that. Not sure what area of the cities you are in, but Brandon at Eden Prairie or Dave at New Brighton are the two I work with. Let them know Brett sent you, white Subaru wagon. They'll both know the car.

While most shops give a lifetime warranty on collision damage repair, I will bet you anything no one will give you any kind of warranty for rust repair.

Pillboy is right. I have been a writer for a couple of different body shops for coming on 8 years now. LaMettrys is a great shop to deal with for rust from what I have heard but you will most likely not get any type of warranty for rust repair. Rust WILL come back. It is only a matter of time as to how long. If your are getting your roof rust repaired. Your windshield will have to come out in order to do the repair correctly. Allot of times that glass will break coming out and then you will need a new windshield. Just something to keep in mind.

This is what i've been told by multiple shops. Figure the price of a new windshield into the cost. At best, it won't break and you'll save a couple-few hundred bucks. But they break more than not.

OR! If you have some sort of a, "crack" in your windshield and you have full glass coverage on your auto policy, the shop can collect from the insurance company for your glass and just fix the rust while your glass is being replaced. Just saying. :p

So LaMettrys, ill check them out. The rust above the windshield is very minor. Do you think they can do it without removing the glass? Also i dont really expect any warranty, just want it back to good looking and ill try harder this winter to prevent it. Like washing it twice a day. By hand.:byebye:
