After my one and only experience with a quick lube place (Jiffy Lube) i vowed never to do it again....this video just enforces my thoughts....

it's too bad because there are so many reputable shops out there that do good work.

    BUSTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When my sister was 16, she went to Jiffy lube to get an oil change, they started telling her, that the car was unsafe, and it needed new fluids, windshield wipers, the works, racked up a $300 bill in all this crap. What was she supposed to do, she doesn't know cars so she wrote a check for it. When my parents found out they went and complained and thretend to sue until they payed us back. So we ended up get a refamped Blazer. We only had it for a month because the lease was up.

All we needed was an oil change.

Jiffy Lube SUCKS. Not good at all.

Maybe LVT should pitch in because he worked at one.

Those places need to GTF out of business.

    hahah neat eh!

That's why I quit JiffyLube. It only took me a little over 3 weeks to realise what a poor job they wanted me to do. I was doing jobs to the best that I could, they didn't like that, they rushed me. I was like....WTF man, when I do things I do it to the best that I can.

It was just a place that I couldn't do my best at...so I just left them. They can burn in hell!

I hate jiffy lube. they always try to trick unsuspecting people into buying unnecessary crap by scaring them.

    I don't want to see anyone burn...well, maybe I should take that back....there are a few people:eek:

I would rather have them raise their prices and do a great job by increasing their quality control......

Or close tem down and push people towards local businesses!!!:) :)

when i bought my first jeep the oil needed to be changed so i took it to a tires plus to have it done i brought it home and my dad looked at it. the oil filter was the same and all of the oil was still drirty.. all they did was replace the air filter. they said it slipped there mind when they went to work on another vehicle. then proceded to change it.. but they wouldnt even give me my money back.. ive changed my own oil since that day

I've had pretty good luck with the Jiffy Lube in Rochester... but most of the guys there recognize me (being as I have so many cars) and know enough not to recommend "changing the air filter" when there's a K&N on there.

This one older guy that used to work there even gave me a recommendation on how to fix the starting problems on my ol' C3, and he was 100% correct! (Heat soak of the starter solenoid, due to headers)

By no means would I claim this is the "typical" Jiffy Lube experience, though. And I do usually have to ''remind'' them to grease the upper ball joints on my 9C1 (If it was a sealed bearing, it wouldn't have a zerk fitting on it!!!)

Valvoline quick lube is a more reputable oil change joint, at least they have clearly stated company policies on screwing things up or upsells.

I still can't beleive after everything people hear people go to quick oil change places at all. It usually isnt any faster than DIY and they never replace crush washers and always try to upsell you on some BS system flush in your car etc.
