I had a couple quick questions about the Bosal twin tip exhuast. I was wondering if anyone on here had one and had a sound clip of it (the onyl one I have found is on you tube and it is really bad) OR has a general idea of what it sounds like. And also I was wondering if this tapers down to 2.5" to meet with the factory DP or if it is 3" all the way through? Also does anyone know if the system is catless? This is for an 02 wrx
Just wanna make sure that it WONT sound like this I hate that fart can noise!! and again, I was wondering if this tapers down to 2.5" to meet with the factory DP or if it is 3" all the way through? Also does anyone know if the system is catless? (is it gonna mate with just about every 3" dp?)
Just don't get a cheap Ebay muffler cannon. Those that were made thin to fit onto compact cars don't suppress enough sound to give it that deep rumble. Also, get an exhaust system that has a resonator in the midpipe of the catback system. I, and a few others on here, have the Bosal single tip and it's not bad at all. Quiet when the engine is warmed up but rumbles when you open it up. If you listen at high RPM, it does have a high pitched sound but I think that's due to the Bosal system not using a resonator in the midpipe. Also, Bosal/SPT's catback does taper at the neck where it meets the downpipe. It's designed to fit onto the OEM catback. If you get one, you can take it to Nathan's shop to reweld a 3" neck to it.
Thanks for the advice, i just really hate that fart can noise, i would like to get the invidia n1 but i need to find one!
I had the bosal twin tip, loved it, looked great on the car, and had a sexyyyy sound, especially with that 18g
Now from what I understand the bosal exhausts are built to fit the stock DP that is, they have 3" piping but a smaller neck? (<--- Is that right?), not a 3" aftermarket? If i get the twin tip, is this correct? If so what do i have to do to make it fit an aftermarket dp?
^^^ You could bring it to Nathan(wrxboy2003) he owns a Meineke shop(Shakopee?) He's able to put the correct flange to mate this w/aftermarket downpipe. Also if you are looking for the Invidia N1 I got mine through CVR Motorsports Under 500 bucks for the race version I think its 560ish shipped with a resonator. They had it shipped direct from invidia to my house but beware they sent me two with dented mufflers before I got a nice one. Between you and me they forgot to pick up one of the dented ones so I have an extra axle-back section:biggrin:
