I LOVE watching the HS hockey tournament. Does anyone know if they are going to be broadcast in HD this year?
Your kidding right?? Our professional team isn't even broadcast in HD, I highly doubt the HS teams will be. Russ
It isn't? I thought most of the games were on versus in HD. I don't get any of the games, so I wouldn't know.
I think the Wild have been aired on VS once this season. The rest are on FSN and KSTC (with one random game being on ch. 5 or something...?). FSN rarely has the games telecasted in HD.
For class A games. In high school we got 20 tickets as a team, and I don't remember a year when class AA wasn't sold out. People outside with signs saying "I need tickets!". I think there was something on the news the other day about tickets going for over $100 on ebay, lol.
In 05 we went to Kinkos and made fake "tokens" that allowed us to buy tickets. They were literally exact replicas. So instead of getting 1 ticket we got 6 or something like that. We didnt think of making more until we got there.
Eh, not my pick for up here... But am glad one local team made it! (The east game is going to be a great one to watch tho!) Best High School experience was being at the championship game my junior year for Hermantown's undefeated season! Nothing better than some good hockey in the Xcel!
They don't sell out the X do they? Or do they just have a certain amount of tickets for sale (like just the LL of the X)? Cathederal tops Mahtomedai (sp?) 5-2!
Hmmm... I thought when I was there they had opend the top section for one of the championship games... Grand Rapids and someone else a few years ago... Maybe not tho
I just got back from watching my home town Little Falls seriously whomp on Virginia. They're undefeated this year, and that Ben Hanowski's setting all kinds of records. Good stuff. If Breck wins tonight it should be a good game between them on Friday afternoon.
No doubt he's an awesome player, but I'm taking on the side that's saying that they don't play nearly as hard of a schedule. That's why watching the A isn't as fun. Most of these teams aren't from the city and come from all different levels of play. I mean, just look at the scores of yesterdays games!
True. They'd get absolutely whomped by the big schools here in the Metro. Its unfortunate. Its not like its their fault they have no good competition. And I think its hard to build a good team with great players when you play the other teams they do. If they threw Hanowski onto a bigger team he may not stand out at all, but if he grew up on a bigger team he may have gotten better than he even is. I don't really care anyway. For once, the home town has made it to state and is looking good (the other couple times they've made it they got knocked out in the first game.
I'm listening to it at www.minnesotasportsonline.com Be careful, you have to have the volume up fairly loud to hear the regular play by play, but when someone scores (or comes close) the accouncers scream! I've gotten plenty of looks already

EDIT #2: Apparently they are taking a look at the goal...dammit, now I have to go into a meeting! EDIT #3: Well EP won. Not sure if the first goal counted or not! Now onto Blaine vs. Century!
Go Moorhead & Warroad! Actually I'd be happy with anything as long as CDH and Breck lose. I hate private schools in the state tourney!
