I imagine the only reason this even has my attention is because I am interested in getting something new. However..
I got a letter in the mail from BP Subaru making me an offer to 'buy back' my Subaru. I just wanted to ask around here if this is just another piece of junk mail or if it's legit?
    Anyone?

So, would this be legit or something to just pitch? The 'deal' is supposed to be running from yesterday through the end of next week.
I've never heard of anything like this before. Then again, I've never had a car that is less than 10 years old before either.

i get them all the time.
i suppose they must see that a model/year is reselling for more than it should, pull info out of their database and send you a teaser card.

My girlfriend's 03 Tiburon is still selling for what she paid for it 2 years ago. She gets the buy back cards at least every 6 months.

Just a fancy-worded deal to get you in the door. They will "buy it back" for their typical trade offer...

Well, I'm not trying to be naive but I believe that I do have low miles on the car. So, if I do my norm and keep it in good condition, it should be worth something. The question that comes up then is, when should a person really believe something like this then?

I just got one of those letters from BP surbaru too. They probably just send them out to everyone on their mailing list. The letter just said they want to buy my Subaru Impreza so I don't know if they meant our '99 or '00 wagon, both have over 100k miles, I doubt either one is really in demand. I think it's just a marketing tactic to get you to come in. I don't know if they really offer more for your trade in or not, but I'm guessing not.

Well, if it is a ploy, they did a decent job, getting me to think about it. My 02 only has around 45K on it. Which isn't bad, I don't think. So, they got me thinking at least..

    bp suby

what the letter is for, or for the people that go it, it is more then a buy back. it is a sales event that is targeted to the people that already have the product. but also that being said if you look further down we have rebates and special fi for people who trade the pre owend subaru for a new one.

also alot of the impreza are in demand alot of people really like the vechile and can not afford a new one. the mailing list is setup for people that have bought subarus from us. i also had a car for a month this was like 3years ago and i still get suff from them. we at a dealership level do not control the list an outside company does. so they dont know if you still have the car. but being that i work for bp subaru i think that it is great for people that are looking at getting a new subaru because where else can you get 0%financing.

I got one of those letters today too,

They want me to trade in my highly sought after SVX. Will pay over and above top market value for a clean well maintained Subaru. So whats top market value on my SVX? Guess it really doesn't matter, as much as I would love to have a newer Subaru Outback Sport or ???? I just cant afford it. :(
Wish I still had my old job and pay and I would consider it.

I'm waiting for the letter on my highly sought after, clean, well maintained XT. :)

Atleast I'm glad I didnt get left out :)

$7,250 for a 02 wrx with 90k miles, thats what, just because of one accident that wasn't my fault. and the car wasn't titled as salvaged either.

i didn't really care cause i got a good deal on my sti and i wanted out of my wrx, but still i took it hard.

btw, has anyone seen a black bugeye around with a sti v2 front lip on it?
