There will be a road race/track day extravaganza Memorial weekend 2006 at BIR. Land o'Lakes region of SCCA is forming a new club that will organize this event. The track day portion is open to anyone with a valid driver's license, a safe car and the right attitude. This is the same as the events some of you have travelled to MAM for. Please mark your calendar to reserve the date as we would love to have you all attend.
as far as drags go, you get more runs on wed nights and cost 20 bucks. but obviously for some of you it's hard to get up here on a wed. for me its 10 minutes to get there  , Justin; as far as the road course racing goes, what event do you guys come up for? i would definetely go for for it this summer since i'll have a 5 speed in my car by then
I Have some Friends That Race there Musting Roush- and his dad has a SVT Lightning-they have a sponsers Smith Heating and Air. But They do the Brackit Raceing and looks like alot of fun and i think it would be pretty sweet if we had like 50 Subys Up there And had like are own area with all of us- would anyone be willing to try to get this together i would help anyway possble but i really have no idea what to do.
Just an FYI to everyone: A few of us Suby guys here have attended most of the local Corvette, Porsche, Audi and BMW club events held on the BIR track and various local tracks through out the surrounding states. If there's ever an event that captured your curiosity... I'd say go for it. You'll come away with so much more info. about yourself, your driving skills and the dynamics of your car. The closing word is "more seat time" cause you'll never get enough.
depending on the date i would love to go. i really wanna see what my car can do on a circuit course. can we get a test lap or too before the races? i would be teh suck on a track i have never driven on before (still may be teh suck afte only driving once or twice) hmmm i may have to remove my speed govenor too, i got some work to do.
Since the paperwork hasn't gone through, I can't release the name we are trying to use. However, the new club has been born from the necessity for a new, non-SCCA club to organize and fund stage rally an road racing at BIR. SCCA dropped stage rally and de-certified BIR. Therefore, Land o'Lakes region felt we needed a new club to provide the local community of rally and road race people a place for their interests and events.
The track days will NOT be a race unless you have a fully prepped and caged car and enter the actual races. If you are interested in that, please contact me off forum and I will help you as much as I can. For most of us, we will be entering the track day/driver's education. It is ALL test laps. Passing is restricted to certain areas of the track for safety reasons. You will NOT be allowed to play door to door with your buddy through the corners. For that, you need the full race prep. Please don't take this as a negative. Matt can attest to just how fun and challenging track days can be. We had a blast last year.
