I just can't seem to help myself from modifying cars, and now my wife's car needs some changes. The stock brakes on the 2.5TS are terrible. They seem to fade quite easily, and there's not much bite. I'm guessing the lack of bite has more to do with the pad than anything, but the fade is quite annoying when I'm having some fun. I'm trying to find some cheap upgrades that will improve the fade characteristics of the brakes. Other than replacing fluid and upgrading to SS lines, is it possible to bolt up a stock WRX brake set to the 2.5TS wagon? If so, any WRX owners here have stock rotors and calipers sitting around? I still need to somehow convince Kelly that this is necessary. Thanks, -Jordan
Yeah I started to try to convince my wife Dania that the upgrade I'm doing (SS-lines, new Porterfields, Cryo'd rotors) is necessary and once I got into the technical mumbo-jumbo she stopped listening... she said she doesn't really care and talking to her about it is like her talking to me about scrapbooking and embossing...[xx(] I thought that was funny. So I said okay just don't be surprised when I drop 300+ dollars on brakes! she said uh-huh meaning: yep, don't really care. )
It's always going to be difficult when a female's involved. But it's always difficult when there's no involvement either. Do I make sense here?
Well among our group here there should be 3 spare sets of WRX rear rotors and brackets sometime next month...

I'm guessing not easy enough for me to do ;-) If it is easy, I'm very interested! :-D -Jordan
There will also be some front rotors. I know my front rotors are in real good shape, the pads look almost like new. I know my fluid is shot, but thats all getting replaced. Give Brett a call and have him look up some part numbers to see if the calipers are the same. He might even be able to score ya a good deal on some front brackets for the larger front rotors. Russ
Brett Corneliusen, Brooklyn Park Subaru parts department. Don't have his number handy...but just call and ask for him, that's what I do.
Brett Corneliusen 763-582-7462 Like Joel said, he is our stock parts hookup. I think we get 10% off parts. Russ
Thanks guys! We'll see what I can scrounge together.. after getting wife approval (the hardest step) -Jordan

I think for the aditional safety it will provide you I am going to look at a inexpensive upgrade for safety sake.
