Well, last winter/spring I set up a brake group buy and I am gong to do another one. This is more of a warning post so everyone starts saving some money for the parts. I am going to talk to Mark this week and get some current prices and such. I think that I will try to wrap everything up around the end of Jan or so. We can play it buy ear. Also, it doesn't have to be rotors and such for Subarus, this year I am getting new brakes for my truck, so you can get rotors for just about anything. Post up what you are looking for and we can go from there. This is also a good time for the people who didn't do the h6 upgrade to do that. I can get ahold of Brett and get a group discount again on the h6 caliper brackets. Post up what you are looking for and I will start hunting down some prices. Russ
The H6 is 12.4" will that work with the standard rims? At any rate it is getting time for pads and all for me. I will probably do SS lines at the same time.
1. A set of stock size Slotted Rotors for Front and Rear STi, SS lines and Street/Track Brake pads. High boiling point brake fluid would be nice also. 2. A set of FRONT rotors for my 99 Dodge Grand Caravan and brake pads.
Ok, I don't think Mark will be able to get the ss lines. I asked about it before and we could get it for a better price. As for the pads, again figure out what kinda of pads you want, and I will let him know. Last year only a couple of us purchased pads because he could match the prices on the internet. He specializes in rotors (or the freezing of rotors). Again, not to be mean, but everyone needs to do the research on what will and will not fit on their cars and just let me know what is needed. I know that with some work, the wrx front rotors will fit the older 2.5rs chassis. I am also not sure what parts are needed for the reto-fit. I don't have the time to research everyones questions. One last thing, this is just a feeler/heads up, I don't really plan on doing the final buy until mid-end January. Russ
Check on prices for OEM GC rear discs for me. Those are due to go soon and I'd rather not have to worry about replacing them ever again.
I'm looking for EBC Green Stuff pads for front and rear, as for rotors, i have no idea, possibly some slotted, but i don't know, guess stock would be fine too.
Oh, also check on all four corners for a 2001 Dodge 3/4 ton diesel, it has discs on all fours. My brother will need new rotors soon and I don't think he wants to bother replacing them again.
all four corners of 2003 wrx. whatever you end up setting up, I'd go with middle of the road pads. don't need rotors.
NE oen know anyting about aftermarket brakes for my car? i gto the 4 disc, but what can i put on there with stock rims? i would like something cross drilled, and possibly bigger calipers. NE ideas?

I did some looking at what was needed to do the H-6 break upgrade, and it sounds straight forward. Breakets, Legacy (h-6) calipers, roters and the usual stuff... cut the break sheilding. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=162522 Thats as far as I got before I remembered that moding the breaks to be bigger changes auto-X classes, so I am not going to do it, but here was a few of the links. For those of you who do finish it off, have fun. Those that have, does the extra 10% surface area realy help a lot? http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=626560&highlight=WRX+upgrade

So you may feel it, but not as much if you were to upgrade the fronts to larger rotors IMHO.
What some of us did last time was stock fronts (cyro'd, slotted, and plated) and the rear h6 rotors. I ordered a couple of sets of caliper brackets for those that did the h6 upgrade. You do not need a new caliper, just the brackets and the rotors. I will do some digging on prices and such. Remember, this is more to let everyone know what is going to happen. I will start putting together a list after the first of the year on who wants what. I am getting a small list started now so I can let Mark know and start working on some pricing for us. Russ
Oh yua, do a couple of searches on here, I posted up prices and such from last spring when I did the first buy. As for a difference, I did the rotors all the way around, ss lines, new fluid, h6 rear upgrade and carbotech bobcat pads, and it made a HUGE difference. Russ
Can you find me the price for slotted front rotors, slotted OBS rear rotors and H6 caliper brackets. Thanks Evan.

I might think about it then, but I am still concerned about going out of the stock class without going and getting more done.... TBE. etc.
Sorry for the delay, I will post up a mini list of what I have so far and pass it along to Mark so he can start working on some prices. Again I am not to sure what he can do for pads. I know last year he got some bobcats for us, and they were basically the same price as online, so do some searching. I also don't think he can get the ss lines, but I will check it out. Also, we will need to figure out how many people are interested in dojng the h6 upgrades. I think it took Brett a couple of weeks to get in the brackets. I will post up my little list so far in a bit. Russ
Bump to the top. I will hopefully have prices and such posted up tomorrow (or later today). I have passed on our list of rotors and such and I am just waiting for Mark to get back to me on some prices. Russ
If you have access to lighweight, two piece, aluminum hat rotors that don't cost more than my whole car, I am interested too.
Well, all the info has been passed along, so I am just waiting for some pricing. I also found out that there is a 13" front wrx upgrade rotor that can be installed. The prices for that will be coming along with the rotor prices. Also, for those looking for ss lines, Mark is going to do some checking through his vendors, but he can't promise anything. I would look for the lines yourself and jump on any deals that you find. Same goes for pads, he is going to get me some hawk pad prices with the rotor prices. For those that want to do the h6 upgrade, I did get a price of $55 per rear braket. So to do the h6 upgrade it is going to be $110 (plus tax) plus the price of the rotors. As soon as I get some more info I will post it up. Sorry Leibo, this is mostly for stock rotors that have been cryo'd, plated, and slotted. If you have or can find the rotors that you are looking for, they can plate, slot, and cryo them for ya. Russ
Front Drilled Slotted Rotor -Outside Diameter = 326mm -Height = 53mm -Bolt Pattern = 5-100mm Rear Drilled Slotted Rotor -Outside Diameter = 315mm -Height = 67.5mm -Bolt Pattern = 5-100 Russ, does this look about right for a good sized rotor for my car? Maybe Matt or someone with an STi will be able to chime in.

I will post up the prices for the wrx front BIG rotors when I get home from work. Remember for those that are interested we will probably get something going by the end of the month. After that figure a week or so depending on how many people. So you will need the money by the first week of Feb or so. Russ
If this group buy is going to happen, everyone will need to start posting up. I figure place the order the first week of Feb, and go from there. I think last time we had to wait 2 weeks to have our mini-meet/pick up the rotors and pay. Russ
Russ, how easy is it to get the same rotor later on (obviously at regular $)? I am definitely interested in rears right now, but I will probably be in the market this summer for fronts. It would be nice knowing I can get a matching set later on. Thanks.
NO problem one getting the other rotors later. Like you stated, you probably won't get as good of a deal as we are now, but they are starting to stock alot more subaru stuff. Russ
Anybody has any experience with Power Slot rotors and HPS pads? How big improvement will i get on STI with that? Thanks.
All the people who are running the rotors from last years gb are all powerslot. I am running them with carbotech pads, and have not bad to say at all. Well, i guess the carbotech pads dust a weird red color that is kinda a pain to get off, but other than that nothing. Power slot rotors are brembo blanks witht he slot milled into them. Russ
Ok, Russ, here is what I am looking for, a bit of a change from previous: Front Power Slot Frozen Rotor #730 $130.66 ea. List $111.06 ea. Group price (Pair of front rotors for the 00 RS) Thanks!
I started the finish thread in the buy/sell forums. Please post what you want in that thread. if you don't have the cash, DO NOT POST. Russ
