i think thats what favre ultimately wants, is a superbowl. if they would have beaten (is that right?) the giants to play the patriots and won, my guess is he would have retired and stayed retired. but his last throw was an interception and he cant go out like that. i think and i hope he gets a superbowl so he can finally let his legacy rest and shut the speculators up.

Yeah, esspecially when he ended last season with an interception... Not exactly what you want the last pass of your legacy to be...

+1 Mr. Chris. also, having a legendary QB on our team will be unreal. i will definately make it to a game this year, even if i have to sit in the nose bleeds

I'm just extremely sick of hearing his ****ing name. Good god, shut the hell up. He's a washed-up quarterback, going the ways of Dan Marino - too damn stubborn to know when to quit.

I called it years ago, but we'll see. I said Favre would end up going out like Theismann.

Seriously. I'm not a Vikings fan (or a Packers fan) but they look damn good on paper... again. There's really no reason (other than sucking and being the Vikings ;) ) they shouldn't be contenders.

Am I the only one that watched the Jets play last year? with all the over the top excitement you'd think Payton Manning or Tom Brady were coming to town. The guy is 40 and he tore his bicep on his throwing arm last year. The running game will benefit the first couple of games just out of the respect defenses will give Favre until they figure out he can't throw long anymore.

By the way who's going to catch the ball? the best receiver on the team is a number 2 on any other team, a rookie and Wade...

Yes it could work out and Favre could be his magical self from 6-7 years ago, but its highly doubtful.

I'm not a MN fan or GB fan, just calling it as I see it. And yes the rest of the team is very good on paper, unfortunately they are crippled by a bad coach. And that defense will be a bit porous without the Williams' if that suspension doesn't get overturned.

    Hee hee, what he said....

I would only add the fahv-re has been a complete team distraction for the last 3-5 years. Anyone remember his "will I, wont i retire" game with the packers a couple of years ago?

I'm not laughing, I'm just telling you from an objective point of view that there is a higher probability that favre will not turn out to be the missing piece of the puzzle. I completely respect the fact that the vikings have the best running game in the league along with one of the best O-lines and arguably the best D-line in the league (giants). But they do have their share of issues, the linebackers still suck and half the secondary is shaky, the receivers lack a true number 1, and the head coach is quite honestly not very good. Aside from the Lions, the division is very tough this year. I think Favre will probably get hurt before the season is over and Sage Rosencopter will finish up the season.

what i meant was another more current one, seeing as he came so close 2 years ago. the last they won was in 97 i believe so hes due in almost.

but what im saying is, if he were to win a superbowl or would have one the superbowl 2 years ago that would have been a good landmark or milestone to call it quits. chaknow?

I dont think he will do any worse than tjacks or sage. Even if he doesnt take them to the bowl this year he will give the WR's great info and maybe even teach the so called QB's that they have now, something.
