Not sure if anyone else has heard much on this, but my good friend and coworker is in Tokyo right now and attended the Tokyo Auto Salon. He said its confirmed that the upcoming BRZ/86 will have Subarus 2.5T. I'm guessing 2021?

    Boaner achieved, if so.

It should have, at a minimum, come with the NA 2.5 for a little extra torque.

This 100%. It was a complete turnoff for me, but now I'm kind of eyeing the first gen since they will prob drop in price (Sorry).

If I can, I’ll have mine for a LONG time! Maybe someday she’ll get the boozt. But probably a 3.3L SVX motor instead.:)

I ain’t skurred of “price drops”

The reports say that it'll be based on the Ascent engine, which is a 2.4. I assume that means it'll be the 2.4, but without the turbo

Hate to say it but I'm calling shenanigans. Subaru is done with 2.5's. If anything it would be a 2.0 or 2.4 turbo. Also, Subaru is great at keeping secrets, I highly doubt they would leak information from anything other than an official press release.
