I have a set of BSA wheels with Goodyear RSAs in 215/55/17s mounted up on them. They are 17X7 40 offset 5X100/114.3. They are pretty light weight and worked well on my Chevy Beretta. One rim has a bend in it but with these bigger tires it's not so noticeable. There is also a little bit of rash on another wheel. $200 and I'll deliver to the cities. The offset is too much for the wagon or else I'd use them for my Advans I just bought. $200 delivered to the Cities area
That offset should work fine for a wagon unless you are trying to cram a really wide tire on. I have 17x7 ET 42 with 225/45/17 tires and have thought about adding spacers, because I still have a good bit of clearance.
On a stock wagon they fit fine and didn't rub but I'm lowered and they rubbed like crazy. They'll work perfect on a sedan though
