So for the last 2 Summers that I've been in MN, I only went camping like twice. After this last Winter, I wanna take full advantage of my Summer. I'm not familiar with the area yet as far as Parks/Rec., so if you guys can recommend any cool spots, that would be awesome.

    Thanks,
    C

The Boundary Waters is the place to be in the summer. little more involved than a camp ground, but definately one of the best places to enjoy MN.

    There. Or here. Sometimes both.
How far do you want to drive?

In the metro, my favs are William O'Brien in Marine on St. Croix or Afton state park. Both are great for just hiking as well.

The campground at Afton is hike-in only, which is nice. Keeps the car 'campers' out. It's probably the best campground in the metro area. Well-spaced sites, all the firewood you can cut, and a clean well for water.

Once you leave the metro, you have many, many, many options. (and there are a lot more in the metro too, for that matter) The Chequamegon Nat'l forest in WI is great if you want to be in the middle of nowhere.

This person speaks truth. The BWCA is gorgeous. The entire North Shore too.

There's a great state park up north by Gooseberry Falls that's beautiful, and IIRC there is camping near Split Rock Lighthouse as well.
