Base price $22,000 (Linear); $30,000 (Aero) (mfr est)
Vehicle layout Front engine, awd, 5-door, 5-pass
    Engines 2.5L/165-hp F-4, DOHC, 4-valves/cyl (Linear); 2.0L/227-hp turbocharged F-4, DOHC, 4 valves/cyl (Aero)
0-60 mph, sec 8.4 (Linear); 5.5 (Aero) (MT est)
On sale in U.S. July 2004

The 9-2X Linear will be offered in 165-horsepower, naturally aspirated form, stemming from the Impreza 2.5 RS. Subaru's wildly popular WRX begets the turbocharged, 227-horsepower 9-2X Aero. Both will offer the choice of a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Revised taillights and wheel treatments complement the new sheetmetal, and the interior gets the alumalook treatment and other materials upgrades. The 9-2X will be served in all-wheel-drive wagon form only.

    Attn:

I just read this article from the UK EVO mags on the 9.2x and it seem we're getting a hint of what the next Impreza will be like.

    http://www.evo.co.uk/

Click on the link above and it's their 1st article on the AERO 9.2x... It's good read!

No kidding on the thread resurection.

Not that I mind, since I actually drive one of these (Aero 5sp). It's basically an 05 WRX wagon with different body panels, more sound deadening, a smoother ride, and the STi steering rack. I got mine for way cheap, since saab fell under the GM pricing they had a few months ago. Had to go to TX to get it, since I waited too long and nobody local had one.

    Edit:
Info was just a bit off. :)

I think they should ditch the new 06 look of the impreza and go with the Saab front end because it is f0king sexy.

My Saabaru was $20459 plus TTL. Just don't buy from Countryside Saab.

I like mine plenty but the seat material isn't as nice as on the WRX. And the sunroof? Don't bother- it's installed by Ray Charles!

Still can't beat the cheaper price or the longer warranty!

But how did you get that price? End of year deal 'cuz they didn't sell any or?when I was shopping I drove the 9-2X but the markup didn't make sense at the time just for the Saab badge and a facelift. Nice car though, but I hate what GM did to Saab (now that's even older news than this thread :p )

GM was offering a ton of money off. $6000 in consumer cash, $1000 in hot button cash, and then a Friends and Family Discount. It was like $8500 off MSRP. I could have shaved $650 or so but they made me take the heated seats (Minnesota).

This was back in May or so. Darn, I can't even remember when I bought my baby!

Tom, my wagon is a lesbo car.

I'd need you to take Adam and his Z. I never cared for a Z, but when I saw those wheels he put on, man, I'm drooling now!

But he's got me way outgunned. And he's competent behind the wheel. I used to beat his Jetta with my SHO. Beat those VWs every time!

Adam sold the Z, and picked up a new Volvo S60 R.

    *drools*

I think I had him a bit worried about racing me, lol.
