i have a problem, when i drive my 02 wrx, the car feels like, the clutch is slipping, boost spikes, one of the two im not sure, but if anybody has any thing on this it would be great. all i have for goodies is, a xs boost controler, set at 15.psi, exhaust, and a aem cold air intake which i would like to get rid of [30 bucks with a stock intake]. thanks :?:

The boost controler will change alot. Some days it might be 15 psi and some it might be 22 psi. Its really hard to say what is going bad.

Do you have a boost gauge on it?

    What does it tell you?

I'm good at figuring out boost conditions :D

Give me (us) as many details as possible.

revert to stock (or as much as possible) and see if it still does it

well, if your boost gauge reads 15psi in all gears it is not a spike. You could be knocking and the ecu is pulling timing. If you have access to a leptop, get the tari software and pull a couple of logs to see what your timing is doing. A 2 degree pull in timing is definitly felt in the butt dyno.

much more likely that the problem is a slipping clutch, which causes the engine to over rev and hit boost before clutch engagement, making it drive funny.

My RS has a declining clutch, you can make it intentionally drive funny. the best way to diagnose it is get it nice and hot, and floor it in fifth on a highway. If it slips, thats probably the easiest way to slip it intentionally.

I have an ACT 2900 PP and street modified clutch. Holds really well, but I wouldn't recommend anything above a 2600 for street. My leg gets really tired after about an hour of normal driving. If you're not planning on getting too big of a turbo or even staying stock get a 2100, about stock petal pressure.
