I was wondering if someone here could rewire my fogs so i could use them separately from my headlights.

    Thanks, Taras

    i can help
i did it on mine, its been done a few times here, i even think some one has the color and number of wire you splice in to on the stock switch for the switched relay wire to be spliced so you can use the stock switch, i have a 2000 RS but i just used my multi meter to find the wire that turned the lights on and off and used it for the fog light wiring, (make a new harness for the fog lights or splice the power supply wire for the stock light to the power out put of the relay), the relay will have a diagram on the back of the package :)

Cake walk. Takes more time to take the dash apart. So to answer your question, yes I can do it.

So the entire dash has to come off?

Yeah you have to take out the entire dash, steering wheel, and remove your brake and gas pedal for this conversion to work the right way when you redo the wiring.

No, lol. actually you just remove 2 or 3 panels. Not hard at all, Russ knows what hes doing when it comes to wiring!

I rewired mine as well, it's quite simple.

$100.00 and consider it done ;)

Easy and ghetto fix. Cut the wires right off the stock fogs and pick up a fog light wiring kit at Walmart or where ever. Wire them up and solder the power wire into the parking light power wire. That way they come on with the parking lights as long as the switch is on or just wire them in to work off the switch.
    That easy.

Wow, thats the hard way. All you have to do is cut the relay feed wire and hook it up to whatever "hot" wire you want to use. I used my parking light wire, so my fogs will be on any time my parking lights are on. Like I said before, it takes more time to pull the lower dash off that it actually does to do the mod.

I love how all the newbs try to re-invent the wheel.

Russ, what if i do the "hard part" and remove the dash pieces would you rewire them for me? I will need you to tell me which plastic cover have to be removed.

    Thanks, Taras

Dude, its his fog lights. If it was his headlights, THEN he would need to drain the blinker fluid. :)

funny you mentioned blinker fluid. When i was back in russia i saw a mazda 3 with bunch of water in the tail light looked funny every time he accelerated it swished around in there.

Again, no point in re-inventing the wheel. The are picture diagrams on how to do it all over nasioc. No, I am not going to help you find them. Time for you to be a big boy and do some searching for yourself. I think there might even be posts on here with links to nasioc on how to do it.

Basically you pull the lower dash plastic off (2-3 screws) and drop the fuse block (2 screws). Find the correct relay and wire (IIRC green with red or black with green), cut that wire and feed the relay side 12 volts from whatever source you want to turn your lights on. That means if you want your fogs on every time the switch is pushed in, hook it up to a switched 12v source, if you only want your fogs to be on once the parking lights are on, hook it up to a wire that goes hot with the parking lights and stays hot with the high beams on.

And I could have done it in the time it took me to write this post.

nice, would you do it for me? I am not confident to do it myself. I know its easy i just dont have the tools to do it and i dont want to cut something wrong.
