Not to brag, but I have an Event Forum that integrates with my site calendar and it works great that way so you never have to go to the Event Forum to actually view the events that are coming up. And the Calendar allows you to go directly to the event. I know we have a calendar here, but a more structured approach might make this stickies business a little a bit easier to navigate. Even on my biggest monitor I have to scroll down to find recent new posts.
Yeah, there's way too many and having to scroll just to see new threads gets old. Every event doesn't need to be stuck. It's an event forum after all.
It should only be "sticky" if you get many CONSTRUCTIVE responses, and not a bunch of hand raisers. Open a thread and make it sticky later if there is a huge response. But the "new posts" link weeds out all of those sticky threads that have had no updates ...
I'll take a look at it tonight... I think we can have a few sticky threads that link to other threads of note.. Official get-togethers,, (links to firestone, duluth firestone, rochester meets, minnetonka meet) Schedules (links to scca schedules, others) Upcoming events (links to threads of upcoming events) etc etc...
