Their customer service is the worst we have ever experienced! My poor wife is at her witts end because they haven't been able to successfully revert an incorrect charge they put on our card, even though they've tried 3 times (and been asses each time). Not only have 2 of the calls somehow mysteriously forgotten to be entered into our account notes, but we've been hung up on by very rude customer service agents (and his supervisor), and now they just refuse to even help at all. We always have been very kind on the phone, never angry. This has been going on for 2 months.

We cancelled the card last month, the retention center seemed nice on the phone (wow a first for capital one), and supposedly the charge had been taken care of and our card cancelled. They told us to call and ask for retention services if there were any problems on our last statement. Well, since there is still that outstanding charge on our account, we called. But customer service will not under any circumstance transfer us to the retention services department. (Even told by a supervisor in customer service) We can't figure out any other way to get to the retention services!

NEVER GET A CAPITAL ONE CARD! IF YOU HAVE ONE, CANCEL BEFORE THEY **** YOU OVER WITH THEIR OWN STUPIDITY!!

    Sounds like a real headache.

Time to stop playing nice guy. When you get someone on the phone you ask their name, ID# and the ID# for this call. WRITE THEM DOWN becuase you will not remember them. Why? This tells the person on the other end you arent fawking around and mean business. Ask your questions... not getting answers? Move up the chain. Same proceedure... name and # written down. Everyone there reports to someone and if they tell you otherwise they are lieing. If you catch them lieing or being rude its time to move up the chain and report to that person their subordinate employee's actions. Eventually you will find someone who finds thier actions to be unacceptable and get you some results.

How do I know this seamingly worthless knowledge? From going thorugh many head aches like yourself [xx(] I fought with United Health Care (ya know the health service providers you keep hearing about on the radio for fraudulant activity and big money setelments?) for over a year in reguards to overchrages and improper billing. Some companies make it policy to have customer service be a real PITA... why? Hoping that you will eventually give up and they keep the profit :(!

    Good luck man

If you have issues with your credit (late payments on your record that in fact were not late), you need to get those RESOLVED. Your credit rating and history is extremely important, you should always get incorrect items that reflect poorly on you fixed.
