Check out the new Car and Driver issue comparing the evo sti and r32.
5-60 rolling start times from the test and a test of the honda coupe(pg 104)
    5-60 mph(sec)
    evo 6.1
    sti 6.8
    r32 6.2
    honda accord coupe 5.9
    ex-l v-6
    hard to believe!

Car and Driver has never really given turbo cars justice. I have no faith in their ability to drive them.

interesting how this shows up from car and driver yet in the video comparison the sti beats the evo handidly in the 1/4 mile.

also arnt these numbers alittle high? the older STis would do 0-60 in 4.x seconds. shouldnt starting at 5mph make it take less time?

indeed. the rolling start should favor the fwd accord, since the evo/sti/r32 are not able to gain the benefit of the awd launch.

    No.

Being able to launch from 6000 rpms makes 0-60 faster on just about every car than 5-60.

i wish they would do some laps at a track that has some variety like
road america or Laguna and let us see lap times with this group of cars and see the differences in times. in the past car and driver put the sti on the same tread as the evo (05) and found the sti to be a better track car (esp if it would be a high horsepower track) i certainly am not going to hesitate to run any of these cars in my 04 sti (track events or on the street)

Topgear's tests would be a good alternative to car and driver's tests.
