Hey kids, I'm going to take the reins of the Car of the Month contests for 2010 and wanted to have a brainstorming session for topics to see what YOU guys and gals wanted since this is your forum. I will take these into consideration and have my own ideas as well What topics would you like to see for the 2010 COTM Contests? What previous topics have you liked? EXTREME SPORTS. lol I think that would be cool. I like the segregated contests once in a while. I like seeing other cars that just imprezas.
I like this idea.. something like 6 figures millage cars. I also like the extreme sports. How bout a suabru in its element, dirtiest Subaru... Also maybe like a best photoshop work so people can do some crazy art work with their car as the subject.. then follow that up with best raw shot... means no photoshop, editing or touch up (minus sizing) just pure skills with your camera.
I don't think anyone here would be any real competition for the biggest RUNNING POS, I think this would be the only catagory my car could ever really win.
I really like the dirtiest subaru idea! high mileage would be cool but that excludes all the people who have recently upgraded themselves into the 08+ category
I like this idea, but I'd want to do it for subarus. Some of us can't enter the normal contests because our mod list is .. either one thing or nonexistent... and when compared to most people on this site .. well I was going to make an analogy about having small peens, but that didn't sound right. A 100% stock contest - or a "little guys" contest where you can have a few mods would work well. That way it comes down to not who makes the most HP or has the biggest mod list, but whose car looks the best. I donno, these contests got real old fast (to me, anyway), because it was just SSDM. ...i'd win a lowest miles contest .. or be 2nd place. I don't think I've put near 5k on my car this year.... being unemployed doesn't help though.
I'd contend for this one after what I picked up this fall. How are you going to judge this one over the Inter-Tron?
Greatest surface area of body panel rust; Most original exterior surface re-paint; Strangest interior mods; Least desirable exhaust sound; .... others coming soon :hsugh:
to be overall abstract and creative with the cotm contest ideas. i really like the segregated contests and most of the contests listed above sound like fun.
Most decals, or best use of decals. Best non-WRB Subaru. Best WRB Subaru. Most snow-covered. Best pet with car. (This was used last year, and I liked it alot, even though I couldn't compete.)
Yeah, the pets+subaru one was really good. Who came up with that one? Brian? here are some ideas: 1) best ride height (lifted or lowered, might have to combine them since not many are lifted) 2) kids+subaru 3) Most hilarious pose+Subaru (think Ray and Joshette) 4) Subaru on, in, or next to a body of water 5) Women only (drivers or owners) Seasonal cotm contests: 6) best Fall shots 7) Best snow action shots (I think we did this already) 8) Spring flowers+Subaru
Pictures including well known minnesota landmarks. Maybe with the pics having different landmarks or a few different cars at one landmark?
I like the ideas about stock, high milage, and not awesome subarus And maybe like a most off road location or something would be cool too
I like the ideas so far! 1. Living outdoors with your subaru (state parks/landmarks/etc.) 2. Living in the city with your subaru (parking ramp/alleyway/etc.) 3. Dirty vs Clean (get your car as dirty as possible and then clean it up/compare and contrast) 4. Funniest picture of your car (stuck/broke/whatever) 5. Sharing the love (tailgating/camping/taking the dog to the park/incorporating others) 6. Best group shot (Get your local crew that you run around with) 7. Other means of transport (I think this may take some work, but I like the idea of a weekend car/bike) Do any of these sound good?
General club gatherings. Such as, someone has a camera to get a group shot at the toys for tots cruise by the kare 11 banner. Then maybe a group shot of all the cars. Sounds like a good Jan front page to me.:hsugh: Russ
