I'm so stoked. They fixed up my "chop shop" job on the hood vent  Filled it, sanded it, and they are going to paint it tomorrow more than likely. Jon is the man. He even smoothed out my hackjob on the front bumper from where I installed the FMIC.
Much thanks to Brian from Morries MTKA for hooking me up with that new rear bumper. Should clean up my stupidity from Duluth nicely :) along with a crease that I managed to earn myself in a parking garage...don't park backwards while talking to your boss on the phone :(
I probably wont be bringing it out for a couple weeks as I am a worryass and I don't want to damage the paint at all. Anyone know where I can get rockblocker paint protection for the front of the car? I know a couple of you have it.
Anyway, t3h yu0r readymix will return new and improved, I'm excited. I'll post pics when I get it home.

Glad to hear everthing is doing well...Rockblocker paint protection? You mean the Invisible Bra? If it is that make sure they do use the 3M brand...Hate to say it, but I love the look of the hood protector from Subaru. If I could I would install it in my WRX, but it has a CF hood so nothing to attach it too.

I know the Morries Bodyshops have been offering the Rockblocker as a service, but I'm not sure how much they charge. I'll be doing it this summer if I decide to get my front end repainted. I'm guessing 300 or so for the full front end treatment.

Glad you have your car back jason? so you got a sweet deal on a rear bumper huh? you should pm me with a price, im still sporting my bumper from the ice event. As far as the clear bra, you can buy the 3m stuff of ebay for cheap and i know matt (bikerboy) does a really good job installing it. He did erik's (old bumper) and my hood.

Well jason, mine went into the body shop yesterday, and I will be getting it back today or tomorrow. The driver side quarter needed a dent removed... ooops. But I am just as pumped as you about getting it back.

Actually, if you go on ebay, you can get 3M paint protection for 200.00 flat.

Is this a 3M Film or actual paint sealant? I'm confused...

I'd love to get my front end touched up and have Rockblocker installed at Morrie's, while they repair where some would-be thieves tried to get in (&*@&$#), but I've heard that the clear bras discolor and show really bad on white cars.

Update: Car probably wont be back till Friday or Monday. Painter says Friday, adjuster says Monday. "I'll be taking Worst Case Scenario for 100, Alex"

yea, or just chipguard your hood/front cover. Also, DON'T RUSH the shop you are getting it fixed at, or they might half-ass it. I know when we are rushed by customers we don't have as much time to make it "perfect" which I always want to do.

I don't see why it would take a reputable body shop over a week to just paint a few panels?

think about it like this Fong.. if it is reputable then it will be very very busy as everyone would want the work done by a quality place therefore it would mean they are back logged with work.... and then add to that scenario if mishap happens then they have to redo something to get it fixed.. then that has eaten time into the next job.... ;)

I got the kit that includes the bumper and fog surrounds, not just the hood/mirrors/fenders kit. Thanks for the offer though.

I got the car back today. Looks hot. I'll get some pictures when I have the hair to take it out of the garage.

I hope it looks just as it did before because it is a wonderful car. Not to play the devil's advocate but did you inspect the car properly for things that weren't there before? (ie: scratches, dings, tears, stains, or maybe abuse)

It returned to me in better shape than when I left it (and in better shape than when I arrived in MN) No extra scratches at all anywhere. The car looks flawless aside from my lazy polishing job on the wheel lips. I got lazy and didn't clear-coat the lips on the wheels last summer when I hand polished them so they are all corroded, but that is nothing a weekend and some sandpaper can't fix. Otherwise, I am really stoked. The car looks great.
