I'm looking for some carseat advice. My little one is getting to be too big for her infant carrier type car seat. The next step is a bigger rear facing one that cam be turned around once she hits 40 lbs or so. I believe these are called convertable seats. I drive a 06 sti. Does anyone know a carseat like this that fits well in the back of a GD? or any other imprezas. I dont want to have to move my seat up to keep her facing back. Somrthing that is shorter lenthwise while rear facing. My eife has a extened cab so the lenth is a concern there too. I looked at a few but they looked huge.

    recaro convertible infant car seat.
You will still need to move your seat up, or sell the GD.

I have the Diono Radian for my two year old. Fit perfectly in my fozzy when I had it.

I have a Recaro Euro in the back of mine.

Unfortunately I don't have any photos of it rear facing. Center mounted will be safest against side impacts, but it will likely require both of your seats to move up if you're tall. I am only 5'8" and my wife is shorter so our seats are fine. I normally sit close to the wheel though. If you're 6' you'll probably feel cramped. Another option is to put it off the side and then move the passenger seat waaay up, but that would be really a tight squeeze. Once you switch to forward facing there is plenty of room.

I have a Britax Boulevard 70 for my son. He's front facing but I flipped it around tonight to check. It's tight, but fits in the side seats and actually has quite a bit of room rear facing in the center seat.

Dont think i'll be selling my sti over maybe a year of a tighter carseat situation. She mostly rides in the wifes f150.

    Thanks for the replies

I had a target gift card and found a eddie bauer convertable there that fit nicely in the middle of the back seats. It looks very similar to the recaro.I put one anchor on either side seat's anchor points. Off to the firehouse for them to check out the installation tommorow.

I did reasearch on recaro seats, they issued a recall yesterday, those who have them should check it especially if you didnt register the seat. Car seats are probably one of the most recalled and highest mfgs liability products out there.

This is my reasoning for a BRZ when talking new cars with the wife.

Me:"But she always rides in your car, so child seats fitting in my car is an irrelevant conversation for us to have. We should buy me a BRZ!" Lolol
