Lucky to be alive. Probably woulnt have lived if he was wearing his seatbelt. Would love to hear what the investigation finds on this one.
Anyone else hear a "Yeehaw" on launch? It really does remind me of watching the Dukes of Hazzard growing up.
I didn't see any damage in the video, unless he was driving a semi I don't think he could have done much more than scratch the surface. I've seen a few accidents where they've hit concrete structures and didn't do much. I think part of the safety rating for those overpass pillars is an impact test and I'm betting it's going to take more than a flying Firebird to exceed it. Of course, I'm not factoring in mullet weight.
The first video looks like the concrete took damage up top, but I noticed that in the second video its hardly scratched. Amazing stuff - thanks for the heads up Brian. I noticed it last night and tried to edit my post but my account wasn't letting me back in - odd. Ive seen quite a few damaged bridges, but with the exception of 35w, they were not built to US code. I still cannot believe no one else was hurt. The officer who's dash cam picked that up reacted very smoothly. That's a weird situation to transition into. I'm sure that kid flying up behind that cruiser, saw it at the last minute and tried to brake before losing all control he originally had of that junker. What a selfish thing to do. Everyone is lucky it ended with just him punished, if he had braked earlier and ended up being routed into the oncoming lane by that wedged guard rail. :ugh:
Best video edit of all time! Ever since I seen this clip I cannot stop laughing not to mention I am blown away in amazement every time I watch it
