my buddy has a friend who wants to trade his carbon fiber hood for a stock one.........i am thinking about trading my stock hood, but are there any issues with a carbon fiber hood that i should stay away......such as rattles, noices, too much movement, etc.

    any info would be great.....

check the brand of the hood, the fit, mine never rattled but some might. they do require a lot of care and may start to oxidize and need constant buffing. o and they are heavier than aluminum

Carbon Fiber Hoods + Minnesota Winters = replacement in 2-4 years (this may have just been a bad experience but thats what I got out of my first one before the Gel Coat began to crack.

You must ask yourself if its worth it. I have a Siebon hood and it is really good. No shake, rattle or role.

I have heard of them freezing up in the winter and cracking too.
