What's a $700 mistake that only takes a half a second to make? Accidentally jumping 2 prongs together that go to the ECU that's what. In an effort to hunt down my EVAP CEL 457, I was poking my multimeter probe around and blew my ECU. Those with a happy probe finger beware. NOT EVERY CIRCUIT IS FUSED. And my EVAP CEL was only a dirty connection around the charcoal canister. dang.
indeed! Car-part = victory also, most circuits are fused, but it doesn't take much juice in the wrong place to fry things.....
is there any value in a broken ecu? i'll throw it on ebay for a dollar with no reserve and see what happens.
