p1090 Tumble generator valve #1 (RH) malfunction (stuck open) and P1088 Tumble generator valve #1 (RH) position sensor circuit low input WTF does this mean? I got the code pulled at autozone for free screw Bloomington for wanting $98 to check my codes. my car is totally stock.
The tumble generator valves are located right below the intake manifold, before the heads. They are used for emissions. I think the first code, P1090, might have answered your question as to what the problem is.
Don't type around the swear filter! Check the conections to the servo motor on the TGV. The servo motor is not working and the ECU shows the codes for the motor as well as the TPS sensor sinces they are connected to the same shaft. If you need more help you can PM me
First off sorry about the f word , normally I just type what I'm thinking and let the filtering do it's work, I actually mistyped f word, and didnt type around the filter. I'll look into it tomorrow thanks.
2x on the check TGV connections. Had this happen to me one, I jiggled the wire, good to go. The other good news it that like readymix said, they are just for emissions. So there isn't any performance hit, and it's not an uber critical get it fixed now sort of thing.
Disco, I saw those and asked a couple people about the TGV deletes. No one even know what the TGV was. Is there any kind of performance gain from those? Sorry to hijack your thread Xcelor8 but maybe this would be worth your time if yours are screwed up. I'm interested in possibly picking some of these up if they are worth it.
Nah, don't worry good question, both my cels cleared today, so either it was warm enough (that how they work right?) it didn't try to use these valves or they unstuck or something, eitherway I guess I'll have to wait and see, maybe it's just sticky.
i got a good look at the stock ones this summer, they look pretty really, really restrictive. i plan on doing this down the road. definitly something to do when you get arround to doing manifold/head work. matt might be able to give you a good idea on expected gains.
