On mornings when it is particularly humid (like the last week or so) my car has a tendency within the first couple of miles to throw a CEL. My best guess for the reason is a misfire of sorts (car idles really low). The car will then not boost past wastegate pressure until the CEL clears itself (this happens both while driving or after the car has sat warm for awhile). So far this has only happened on cooler/wetter mornings.

This morning the CEL came on as soon as I started the car.

Is there anyway to prevent this?

Is there anyway to raise my idle?

Would my mods (3" catless TBE, VF-8 turbo, IC) contribute to the problem? I didn't have this issue until the exhaust went on.

Also, how do you check codes on a 94 Legacy SS? Is there such a thing as an OBD1 scanner? Where to find it?

    Thanks.

we have an OBD I and II scanner in the neighborhood. Autozone should do it free IIRC.

    Thanks for all the input.

I'll probably crawl around under the drivers seat today and if all else fails run over to AutoZone.
