This is the second time my car has thrown this cel. When i check it with the AP It shows me P304 and ???????. I know it is cylinder 4 misfire. Is it bad to drive my car when this is the second time it has happened?? It seems to only happen when i remote start my car. Not when i'm driving or anything like that. Thanks guys

Yeah, apparently cylinder 4 misfire ftw too. Quit being a girl and go turn your damn car on like everyone else.

    Really? Neat.

Do you have to install some sort of limit switch on the shift lever or something like that?

on the compustar you have to have your foot on the brake, the clutch pushed in, and have the ebrake pulled, then you remove your foot from teh brake and you hear a click. at this point you can pull the key out and the car knows its in neutral.

the whole pressing this and that seems annoying, but its what you do every time you park except you leave it in neutral instead of in gear (sometimes). if you dont plan on starting it w/ the remote, it doenst matter how you shut it off.

I get these codes as well, with no remote start. If you figure it out, let me know.

Dont forget to add if you open the door after you do this procedure it will disengauge the remote start. That way if some on hit your car in gear when getting something out it wont start.

actuallyyyy, if that was the case it might still try to start itself?

if you lock the doors and leave, come back later to get some stuff out of your car open the doors etc. then youd have to reset it. you work today kevin?

P0303 is mine! Don't really know where it originated, but has come on a couple of times. "Misfire on 3rd cylinder" It blows! I'm still not convinced that it is not a bad/faulty coil-pack like I have been told!:dunno: Good luck!

Hey Jason, you feel like swapping the first and third coil-pack around for me in Orr? Figure you wouldn't even have to set your beer down for that one!! Want to do this to see if the 3rd coil-pack is no good. Tom said if the cel comes back on and my o.b.d says "misfire on one", that the coil-pack may need to be replaced! Lmk.

You will need to remove the airbox to get access to the passenger side coilpacks. So unless somebody has one of those fancy beer hats, they will need to put it down. :p

Air-box no longer exists!! Well it does, but it has been relocated to the garage shelf! Beer is still in hand--Thank You!..haha

BTW: Jason-I can buy you one of those beer hats if you want to go "Hands Free" while you wrench!! Plus many beers to fill it!!

    In mah Forzda, yo
I got them to. Untill I burnt my exhaust valve that is. Could be carbon stuck on the exhaust valve, keeping it from seating correctly. Thus, causing a misfire.

But since it only happens when you remote start. I'm guessing its something else. Mine happened once in a while and then became more and more frequent. Untill finally, part of my valve disintegrated:eek3: Was NOT a cheap fix:emo:

Well, if it only happens on a remote start I would check the cranking time. Sit in the car and see if it cranks to long or to short. That might also be a possibility. I know on some of the older dei remote starts they had adjustable crank timing.

Let me know your favorite flavor before my run to the liquor store tomarrow! "Mixx, I've got a driver side front wheel bearing going out...may need to replace soon! We'll have to work something out.;)

well this long drive aint gonna be the best on a bearing.. short trips ok.. constant high speed long trips... excessive heat buildup means bearing failure....!!!!

I hear ya Nate! I just made a 6 hr. trip to Iowa over the holidays with it and on the way home I could hear it a little bit. Should be o.k. But it is on the top of the list after the races!:yumyum: Need to bribe someone to do it for me though. Quote was almost 600 bucks for parts and labor!:eek4:

Yeah, you would think so!! Tires + estimate was $590? i think. BP Subaru was like $510! Cheaper at the dealership:eek3: ? That was before discount! If i remember the quote w/discount was like $340 or so. But that still doesn't sound cheap....DAMN HOLIDAYS!!!!!
