CEL p0447 evap control system vent control circuit open. does anyone know what that is?? i just found out today after i replaced the o2 sensor... thanks!!
i have the same thing. Depending on the year of your car, it may affect your cruise control. It could be that your gas cap is not tight. It could be a vaccum tube by your power steering that is off. It could be the "charcoal Cannister" by your right rear wheel thats failed. Or the wiring is shot. The wiring on that thing is half-assed form the factory. All the snow and salt can corrode it away. Giving you that code. It's nothing major. Check those things, and if you fix it the woohoo...I havent been able to fix mine. I also dont have that gas escaping noise when I open my gas cap. It means theres no vacuum in the line. ....or something. Hope that helps. -jfk
well...my cruise control is not working since the fist day i bought the car, so i dont think thats the problem, and i tighten up the gas cap, but the cel is still on ...but i dont know where the "charcoal Cannister" is and the vaccum tube tho , so i cant really fix it myself lol ...but good to hear thats not a major problem
I can clear it for you! haha I'm sure it will probably come back on though! And I can say I don't think i've ever heard any "gas escaping" noises since i've owned my car! Hmmm...BTW I spotted you yesterday going left on B. Blvrd. off broadway..same spot the car stalled on ya that last time...lol..good to see you took off around the corner w/no problems this time!!
do u know what that code is??? lol ..i kno..man i was gonna go to Mcdonald's but decided to go home instead, i spotted u too....u know..whenever i stop at any stop light...im so fightened, cuz i afraid my car will stall again anytimes...lol
I've read about that before. This article may hold the key to your problem. http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4136&highlight=p0447 It seems to be the resounding issue with that code
just cause your gas cap is on doesnt mean it isnt shot!!!... but that code sounds more then just a simple evap pressure leak code
thanks dave....i went throught it,,,but i still dont really know where it located at cuz im lacking of knownledge lol ...
well i pretty sure i tighten it up reallt tight and couple times, but the cel is still on tho ...and driftin240(brian) told me that there are like anorther 6 codes in memory...wtf?? i got shock when i saw his PM....so is there way i can find out all the codes...?? o man ...I NEED HELP!! and i really need to get this dumb thing fixed...driving me crazy lol
nope I mean shot as in not working, ruined, broken, not sealing - S.H.O.T!!!! ha ha but shut could work... mostly for not screwed on though...
hahah...i think i might need to get a new gas cap and try then lol ...cuz i dropped the cap couple times...so it might be why
that code appears for 2 years on my rs after I installed fongs mrt's setup...I was trying to clear the code, but the time being it will come back again. same theory with the gas cap as well, I bought a brand new gas cap, and guess what...code has been coming back again...finally I decided to send my car for fully inspection and have them to clear my code for diagnosis check and repairs at morries mntk...subaru tech claims that I had a bad wires that leads somewhere underneath the car and routings. I assumed when I installed the sway bar or the mrt's somewhere I must a have pinch a wire...my suggestion is retrace your step how you install it and double check if you haven't pinch any wires and such...again that code can means many things but I might be wrong. it is not a serious mechanical problem, you still can drive with that code, the only thing is, is that the cel light is kinda annoying from the cluster....well good luck
and it can also hide other codes as they are set... as you will get used to the light being on and ignore it
well im gettin used to the light but the thing is i still wanna get it cleared because i can never tell is there any other error codes come out or not u know because of the cel is on all the time
if you can't find it...the best i can tell you is send it in to the shop...I recommended mntk subaru dealership. It will cost you, but at least you have them clear the cel
I would strongly suggest you re-read the article on my original reply and dig into it. Here it is.... Anyway, about another month went by and I remembered the service managers suggestion, so I jacked up the car, placed jack stands (as ALLWAYS) and dropped down the canister and inspected the harness. Not much to inspect since its all wraped up with factory tape and plastic pipe covering. As the harness was dangling there, WATER started to drip out of it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Water, how in the hell did that get in there? (from the constant splash from the rear wheel, thats how!) So, I thought I mine as well tear it all down , about 12 inches of it, and rerap it. First I unwound all the tape, then pulled the piping off and guess what came with the piping..... one of the wire leads! The heavy yellow one with the green tracer to be specific. I couldn't belive it. This was factory wiring!! I went up the line another 2 or 3 inches and discoverd a COLD, UGLY SOLDER JOINT and it was so corroded I couldn't even resolder the cleaned wires. This lead was evedently spliced in once the harness was placed (yes,I'm sure it was factory) maybe here in the states? (I suspect that service mgr. knew this, but couldn't critisize subaru) HE WAS Giving ME a HINT, but I didn't realize it. Who I thought would go digging around in a FACTORY harness? HE WAS SO RIGHT!!!
the canister is located on the rear passenger underneath the car, right on the sway bar.... that's where the gas deliverd....btw... do you planning to change the clutch by yourself?
no man ....i dont know how to do it ....i will have someone to do it for me ...need to resurface the flywheel too
