Had a couple different CELs on the car lately. First was a P0420 which was fixed with a charcoal canister. Then a few days later I got a P0113 low temp air intake. Cleaned the MAP sensor. Seemed ok for a while. Then I got the p0113, then a p0130 which is upstream o2, then the p0113 a couple times. I got a new (junkyard) MAP sensor which I'll be testing hopefully soon. In the meantime, is there a separate sensor for temp? Or is there a separate sensor? Other models with a MAF show a sensor in the airbox which appears to be missing on the 2001. Anyone have experience with this situation? Thanks
Well... I swapped the MAP sensor with the junkyard one. Went 25+ miles so far. No light yet. Fingers crossed it stays that way, but I'm still worried about the 02 code.
I'm guessing the code for the O2 could be a bad O2 sensor, or it may have been related to the failing MAP sensor. Here's a couple threads for reference: http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f66/cel-p0130-should-i-replace-o2-sensor-126097/ http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f66/p0130-what-s-problem-408730/ http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f88/p0130-p0171-73134/
P0130 keeps coming back. I read those links. They are for a 2000. Amazon seems to think they o2 sensor they listed won't fit my 2001. But there was some banter about only using a Denso sensor if not OEM. I'll make my way down to the local parts store tomorrow or Sunday to find a part.
@Quinn I was going to buy an O2 sensor for my 2001 rs off Quinn but ended up fixing that problem. It was a rear sensor but seemed like he had both and it looks like the parts are interchangeable. Just an option, might be cheaper then an auto parts store.
Ugh.... stupid sensor. I got in the car tonight and ran some errands. No light on the way home. I'm sure replacing it will fix the problem. I'm hoping to get a used/working one tomorrow.
