Did anyone else see that report tonight? It was pretty bad, talking about honda's getting broken into for the ecu's. Then they even showed a subaru racin - naughty naughty  Thanks fox 9 for givin us a good name
OOPS! :ugh: I don't think they got any plates though! Looked like the kid had long hair! I wonder who that coulda been??
hehe, i love how just modifying the ecu can make civics fast, that made me giggle. but really its not like u cant learn all that street racing crap on streetfire in like 10 minutes haha.
hehe, just reformatted, didnt have flash player hehe, that sti at the end trashed whoever was filming
Well obviuously al of us subie fanatics are missing out becuase the honda civic is the favored car of the skreet racorz! Kinda wierd how FWD became the prefered drivetrain layout for drag racing in Minnesota where 8 months of 12 we have snow.
My wife's cousin was involved in a street racing accident down in Texas in March 2005. She was headed home in her little Saturn, with her teenage son in the passenger seat. A couple of kids racing pick up trucks were coming the other way. One of them lost control, hit a curb, and flipped. His truck landed on the driver's side roof of her car. Her son got away with cuts and bruises, but she wound up in hospital with massive head trauma, effectively a vegetable. She spent 15months on life support before finally passing away this summer. The danger from this kind of behaviour is very real. Don't be an idiot; take it to the track. Stuart.
Acually, it just goes to show that they (channel 9) really dont know squat about street racing in MN if they thing the Civic is the prefered car
Sorry for your loss. I hope to make a difference with the students that come to our training events, by teaching them the skills to prevent an accident and the knowledge of the potential cost of an accident. I can only hope this will help them make better decision on the public roads. I can stress how enough how no one wants to be on the receiving end of any accidents.
We need a close race track to keep kids from street racing. Everyone pray for me to win the lottery and I'll build one when I win
Even if there is a closed track it would have to have a very large capacity and be virtually free to attract all the skreet racers to it. actually i kinda like that fact that the stigma is associated with hondas. It makes Subie look better, and faster lol. I also know someone who died to a street racing related incident. a guy at the place i wokred over the summer, was driving home after work. he was driving down a 2 lane road by buffalo, in his ford taurus. two kids were drunk and skreet racing (at like 3pm on a friday). one of them hit him head on in a suburban. killed him on impact. ironically the last thing he did before he died was by a minor beer. karma is a *****.
+ eleventy squillion. there is nothing locally to keep this off the street. its ironic the reason we'll never see a track locally is because of the noise yet people continue to bitch about how dangerous street racing is. On top of all this I don't see why this is such a big deal now considering this has been going on since the 60's with Porky's still at center stage.
Its still there. You just need to scroll through the pictures. Glad to see that chan 9 is making street racing look so cool by giving 18 minutes of uncut footage. Russ
 Yes 18 minutes of pure raw unadulterated skreet racing for your viewing pleasure compliments of channel 9...skreet racing is bad tho mk?
What I like about the footage is you can see how they edited it... what cars they excluded, what clips they included, etc... Im not saying that street racing is not irresponsible and childish, just that Fox 9 is great at fearmongering.
I think the best part about that video was the use of the entire soundtrack from tftf tokyo drift. even the part where they were filming the kids car that crashed, they were still playing music from that movie. I love the kids lines "this was orchistrated, they've got helicopters and everything." cops work in teams? really?
