Hey, just moved here from colorado springs and man do i love the way my car is running compared to light air in colorado. Just the other night my check engine light came on. Cel code P0442. Never had a problem like this before and it caught me a little off guard. My setup is a vf34 w/ a protune but i got it done in colorado. My first thought is maybe the boost is too high since i went down in elevation. Anyone with any input would be appreciated.

I had a cel come on and went to checker auto today to get it scanned and it was the same code.

P0442 Evaporative emission control system malfunction (mine said small leak after it)

Does anyone know what could cause this code? or some common fixes.

Gas cap fully tightened? If it's not that you'll have to check the vent lines on the fuel system.

^^^Yes I was gonna say that^^Also check the gas cap gasket. Make sure the gas cap does not bind when turning it onto the fuel neck. The binding could make the gas cap tighten up when the gasket on the cap is not seated on the fuel neck.

It's probably from when you installed your fuel pump. I think it's a pretty common thing to pop up. :)

I would first check the blue hose connector next to the alternator. If you look between the Alt. and the PS pump burried down there a bit is a blue "T" with three hoses connected to it. Make sure they are all connected.

If they are all connected then you have the common wiring issue back at the charcol canistor.

I would second this advice. I have had this CEL on my '06, turned out that one of those hoses just popped off of the "T" connector. PITA to reconnect, however.
