Hello guys and gals, I'm currently working at NAPA paint dept. at Saint Paul Kasota location. My co-worker and I always like to match difficult colors of certain piece and materials around a car that do not usually have a paint code. We decided to match the paint of the legendary cherry blossom color of the sti's. First, I called the dealership if they do have a paint code of the pink color, the part pro is kind enough to explain to me why a paint code doesn't exist. According to him there is no really an exact shade of this color, he did add that over the years subaru change the pink shade maybe 2-5 times, this is why the old pink are more lighter and the newer ones are more brighter and vivid in color. He did say that Grimmspeed is selling a close approximate of the color but not 100% accurate in his opinion. After talking to the dealership, my co-worker and I went to work. At last after a couple of days looking at pink paint, we finally cracked the code and came up with our own formula. we used the sti badge borrowed from a friend as an example. The color is not perfect or 100% match of the original color due to having many shades but we achieved a closed approximate. I understand that Grimmspeed sells this color in aerosol cans and in my opinion they are expensive for just a solid color. I am not going against Grimmspeed but only offering a locally and an affordable alternative for us guys in a budget. although this color might not matched other pink sti's, we can also tint it to the customers liking.

As of right now I'm still doing my research and talking to my manager if its ok to sell this color. But if we are going to sell this color, its going to be around $25 a can of spray (basecoat or single stage) and we can also mixed pint, quartz and gallons.

Chris is awesome over there. Love chatting with him whenever I'm there, very knowledgeable guy!

I personally will always go to Kasota NAPA whenever i need some color matched aeresol cans in the future. And they are closer than Welle for me! Lol. (Welle Auto is really good too fyi)

NAPA and Welle Auto supply run right around $24/can. Well worth it as they color match your actual paint code. GrimmSpeeds version is based on one silver, one blue, etc. The match is usually good and unnoticeable, but the others are usually closer.
